Go to ‘Tools’, then ‘Add Ons’ then toggle on ‘Plug-Ins’.. Is your Adobe Acrobat ‘disabled’?

My Roboform login assistant won’t work w/ 22 either.
So: do a search at start menu for “downloads”...after downloading 21.0 from like, CNET or other site, don’t delete that 21.0 downloaded setup file...you’ll need it?
Uninstall 22.0
Next, click on the downloaded 21.0, follow the steps and your done. Problem is, if you close out FF again, it reloads 22, and, same if you reboot! Ugh!
Disable the Adobe Acrobat plugin in Tools/Add-ons.
Download and install Foxit Reader. Not only does it load twice as quickly, it doesn’t pester you to update every three days.
FF has had problems with Adobe Flash and PDF for a while.
You might try the add-on, PDF Download. I use it, but I stopped upgrading Firefox at ver 15 and stopped upgrading Flash about the same time.
It has gotten to the point with Win 7 that any type of upgrade creates more problems that it resolves. Win7 upgrades cause glitches. Java upgrade causes new problems. Firefox updates conflict with add-ons and plug-ins.
It is gotten to the point that the upgrades, even for ‘security’ purposes, are worse than what they are trying to correct.
Try tools,options,aplications,set adobe content types to “use adobe reader”.
but Firefox seems to be oblivious to its existence.
Firefox has had an internal pdf viewer for a few versions now.
To disable it, in address bar, enter "about.confg". Click through the warning. Search on "pdfjs.disabled".
Change "false" to "true". This will disable the internal pdf viewer. Then pdfs will display in whatever program displays them on your computer, probably acrobat reader.
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > right-click on Adobe Acrobat and ‘Repair.’
If that doesn’t fix it, download the latest Acrobat from Adobe’s websites and install it.
I’ve had no problems with Acrobat or any Adobe products with 22.0.
Just wait 15 minutes for FireFox 23, or, wait 30 minutes for FireFox 24...
Personally, I dumped Adobe Reader and use Foxit Reader from Download.com.
I read something awhile back about security issues with Adobe.
If you decide to go with Foxit, watch out for "unwanted" add-ins to your browser as you install.
This procedure worked for one of my supported users: backup your bookmarks to a file, completely uninstall Firefox and when it asks to dump all user data select yes. Download a fresh copy of FF and install. Launch FF, download Adobe Flash and install. Restart FF and test PDF functionality. Import bookmarks.
Privacy mode on Firefox will possibly block some downloads.
