An Iranian government spokesman has said that outgoing President Mahmud Ahmadinejad will return with the Hidden Imam, who according to Shiite belief went into hiding in the 10th century and will reappear to bring justice to Earth, reports Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
God willing, with the manifestation of Imam Mehdi, Ahmadinejad will also return and work for the establishment of pure Islam, spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by Iranian news agencies.
Ahmadinejad and his close aides have been criticized in Iran over their repeated references to Mahdi and signs of his imminent coming, reports RFE/RL. Ahmadinejad came under fire in March for saying that former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will be resurrected alongside Jesus and the Hidden Imam.
0bama is going to Iran?
In other words, 'never'.
Somewhere in Africa?
Are you sure they not just making fun of Ahmanutjob?
“Come back when you find him!”
Kind of like the end of “Return of the Jedi”.
Where did Ahmadinejad go?
Under obama's bed waiting for his turn with reggie.
Will Elvis be there too?
2 wild and crazy guys!!
Maybe a TV show is in the works?
pure Islam?
wow..
That must be some potent stuff.
Oh, to be a religious leader. You can make up any ridiculous fairy tale and people have to believe it.
Obama missed his calling.
I think this means he’s going to walk-on at either Texas A&M or Nebraska, and play special teams.
Ahmadinejad began and ended every major speech with a prayer for the return of the 12th Imam. This is like praying for the apocalypse. When the 12th Imam returns the middle east will be burned to the ground by flames and blood will run like rivers. (I think that’s an accurate quote.) I believe that Ahmadinejad is a true believer. If he does return with somebody claiming to be the 12th Imam it could cause real problems as there will be an instant following of other true believers. It could potentially really upset the political structure in Iran.
Killing both of them would be the obvious solution, but the powers that be will probably try to discredit them instead because killing them could cause even more problems.
Somebody pass the popcorn.
Isn’t the 12 Iman to be considered the Anti-Christ?
“Isnt the 12 Iman to be considered the Anti-Christ?”
I don’t know that he’s mentioned in Christian theology by name, but to my limited theological knowledge, I’d say he’s a contender.
Some would say that the anti-Christ is here and in politics now. I’d say you could make a case for that too. Perhaps there are several?
