I would like to think I speak for a majority of conservatives when I say opposition to gay marriage is NOT about hating homosexuals. Everyone has sin, heterosexuals have plenty of their own to mind.

People who want to say this is about "hate" are either missing, or are choosing to be willfully ignorant of the MUCH greater and more important societal consequences of messing with something that has been a bedrock for civilization since its beginning.

The will of the people is shifting on this, granted, and I have no idea where those of us who don't want to give up the fight for the culture will go from here. However, the political fight is pretty much over now. You can't unring a bell.

I do know this, because the masses want gay marriage doesn't mean it's right or True.

People whose morals are derived from fealty to a higher power than themselves will become even more marginalized in society and legally. No big surprise there. We have always been responsible for what we teach our children, its just that in the past you could probably count on your neighbors to have the same basic standards as you and therefore help you look after your kids when you didn't actually have eyes on them. The degradation in that practice has been going downhill for some time; I feel the slope has just gotten steeper.

First, gay marriage will be back in California and will be legalized in many other states. Then, there will be federal action to compell ALL states to let gays marry. Then, there will be direct legal persecution of all religious organizations that “discriminate” in any way against gays. As the above are happening, marriages among heterosexuals will continue to decline and the fight for polyamory will be kicked off. Also, as religions and religious schools are killed by “anti-discrimination” laws, the public schools will step-up the brain-washing and even young children will be taight by out of the closet gays who are married to people of the same sex.
