Children who don’t get a pre-kindergarten education, ideally from birth to age 5, might fall behind and “may as well drop out” by third grade, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said on Wednesday at an event to garner support for President Barack Obama's $75-billion proposal to increase pre-school enrollment across the country.

You mean while the parent (no ‘s’) works (or dances or is frequenting crack house or is busy securing new Obamaphone or...).

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record—Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963

#17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.(Get control of the CHILDREN-—EARLY!)

Has Sebelius paid up all her Federal Income Tax? Has she paid any at all in the last five years? Oh really?

Idiot.

“Head Start” has been proven useless and akin to a babysitting service.

I always tell people to first of all find out who did the study. It almost always turns out to be from someone that will stand to gain financially or politically from the outcome. A lot of university and non-profit grants are given to these so called “experts”.

This is working out as planned by the Left. Create a lot of problems by making laws and policies that destroy the nuclear family, and then come up with solutions to the problems caused by their laws and policies.

Solutions that let them financially reward their loyal constituents and grab more power.

Sebelius isn’t entirely incorrect. For large numbers of pre-K age kids whose mom’s are still teenagers, the kids really aren’t getting anything by staying more or less at a “home address” during the day other than serious behavioral issues.

I don’t believe her second could read before age 7. She reads very well now at 10.

Good for her!

Kids brains are only half baked at birth and develop at different rates. The channels that allow reading can form anywhere from, using extreme examples, age 2 til age 10.

Try to get a child to learn to read before they are ready results in a frustrated child who becomes convinced that they are "stupid".

At best you have made reading a chore rather then a pleasure.

Next they’ll be implanting a chip with an entire set of World Book Encyclopedia in fetuses to get ahead of the curve. Oh, wait, never mind, those are just blobs of cells.

spot on.

Now, if we ONLY had a party that would follow and adhere to the Constitution; specifically A1S8. Then my blood pressure wouldn’t be through the roof as reading that this Cruella de Vil bitch has a gov’t job, and telling US how to educate ones own children.

F you, Sibelius. My child with special needs will always be far behind, but he can still learn.

IT’S ABOUT LEARNING AND BECOMING, GROWING, CIVILIZING. it’s not about being the same as every other child.

“Children who don’t get a pre-kindergarten education, ideally from birth to age 5”

Like when PARENTS should teach their OWN children numbers and ABCs and polite manners?

PPHHHTTTTTT.

Thank you.....Your comment about this being a horror show was right on....it reinforced the fact that he's much better off. Who the heck knows what the future holds? I feel so sorry for the younger people who aren't complete libtards.
