I've almost completed the 1st week of Insanity. I understand that it is designed to be a rough workout, but I have a hard time keeping up with Shaun T. I was wondering if other have completed this and if they were happy with the results. A guy I work with does P90X and repeats it - he's done it 6 times so far. I definitely feel better after a week.

I decided to do it because my exercise is almost all running, and this seemed to be a good program. I want to shave some time off of my marathons, and thought I would try something different. So far, so good. Only been a week though. It's supposed to get really rough the 2nd month.

On thing - there is a lot of jumping around, so if you have weak knees you will want to be careful with those parts - make sure you do all the stretches and know your limits.

I wish I had the energy and want to go out and walk daily. Endocrine disease is slowly destroying me. I’m not yet 30 but I feel like I’m 90. My grandfather and I have the same complaints.

If I can get back on the exercise saddle before 40, I’m going to give P90X a try. That is, after I get back to the athletic ability I had when I was 15. It’s been downhill since that age.

The problem is it gets very repetitive. I have not seen one person keep up with it consistently for the long term.

As I understand it the insanity workout is more cardio based and the p90x is for muscle development.

P90X works. I’ve completed it several times and am about do begin again. It’s very hard at first, but it does allow you to moderate exercises, especially until you get used to it. My only advice is to turn the sound down. Tony’s antics grate on you. And, the yoga video is one of the toughest!

I have am doing Power 90, the precursor to P90X. I like it and have good results on both weight loss and how I feel physically.

Stay with it; it may take a few weeks to build up to doing the whole thing but if you stick with it.

Try Power 90 first; it is not as intense.

I have a couple of guys at work that started it, but couldn’t finish it.

Myself, No.
I’m in enough pain after I limp home from my job.

I am midway through my third cycle of Insanity. A friend of mine had it, and gave it to me in frustration. Background: I am 6’1”, and when I started Insanity I weighed 179 lbs. I also smoked around 1/2 pack a day. I had never run more than 1 mile and a hlaf at a time, and that was 15 years ago in the Navy. I quit smoking when I started(I’m one of those idiots who just liked to smoke, not addicted) because the workouts hurt, and I wasn’t interested in hurting any more than necessary. I have lost a total of 12 lbs, and I have recently completed 2 5K races with 24 min times. I don’t have a sculpted body yet,(largely because I eat okay, but don’t follow the food plan)but the definition is getting there. Insanity is the best thing that I hate to do.

Yeah, that's the other think - I an running the Chicago marathon this fall, and I want to drop 20 lbs before then. This seems to be a good way, and even if I don't drop the weight I'll still have a good program.
