You won't believe how much has changed since then. Notice anything peculiar (other than the fashions) in some of these photos? (Many photos at link)

Something I’d definitely want back from the 50s is when nobody locked doors, and young kids were allowed to play outside. There was no climate of fear That all changed in the 60s. Thanks a lot, Charlie Manson.

And to think in those days they wouldn’t let us pump our own gas but we could smoke absolutely anywhere. Nowadays, I guess it’s a good thing people can’t smoke while filling up there cars, huh?

LOL! I remember how few cars or bikes you could do a damn thing about it, other than deliberately set the point gap other than to spec. Strange days.
Electronic ignitions may leave us vulnerable to EMP, but they do make life maintaining cars and bikes a lot easier............
For the curious, dwell was the amount of time (in degrees) that the coil had time to charge up. Not enough on those old weak ignitions, and you got crappy spark. Setting the point gap too close to increase dwell could cause a lot of arcing of points and pitting.
Which led to filing the points, yet another arcane mechanical skill from when a "tune up" actually meant some work was involved.
If I messed any of this up, blame my 65 year old memory banks and things I have not dealt with for forty years.

Okay - it was a very long day yesterday and today isn’t going to be any better.
How about bare thighs!

Not New England, much more likely New Jersey. Mullets were never that popular in NE and virtually no one likes the Mets. A kid that size would be risking his life wearing a Mets t-shirt and running into other kids In NE.

Those look exactly like the girls I went to school with in junior high... right down to the tight “high” mom jeans, ridiculous puffy poodle hair and Tammy Faye makeup. I was not turned on by that look then, either.

"The youth were dressed then. No pants hanging off their butts....no 13 year old girls with boops flopping out or their pubic hair ready to inch out over their pants.........."
What female over 13 (and under 50) today still has it ? All "bald" and tattooed.
To: Viennacon
Manson was a symptom, IMHO, of a culture aided by the Sinisters (i.e. “Liberals”)that took it upon themselves to remake society.
Easy divorce, agenda driven education, opening the doors of prisons and insane asylums etc. etc.
The Sixties is where the rot begin...
