Senator Says Texting Illegals Will Remind Them to Go Home
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 12 May 2013 | John Semmens

Posted on 05/13/2013 11:41:09 AM PDT by John Semmens

Senator Tom Carper (D-Del) contends that “a significant share of the illegal immigration problem is inadvertent. Those who become illegal residents due to expired visas can’t really be blamed.” Carper suggested that “a program that would send text messages to those in the country on visas reminding them that their visas had or were about to expire would, in my opinion, greatly reduce the number of offenders.”

Carper said he got the idea from a similar program run by the Mexican government that texts expectant mothers reminding them of the estimated number of days they have left to cross the US border so their babies can be born US citizens.

This has to be the stupidest statement by a Dem since the last time Joe Biden said something.

Can we arrange for a texting service which tells the legislative branch of federal government to stay at home, thus leaving us safe from tyranny of their stupidity.

So, by this logic, I can just text my kids that it’s bedtime and leave it at that?

This is a great idea.

Yup, it’s a lame, stupid reply...even given that it is satire.

The sad point is that most dim-bulb-crats believe this bull Obama stuff.

I do gain pleasure in imagining a country composed only of liberals.

How could they survive?

This is on one hand flaming ridiculous but I don’t see the objection to it as long as 16,000 Federal agents do not have to be hired to perform the message origination at the rate of 3 a day and a $75,000 a year salary. And obviously, this can’t be the only means of immig enforcement. Frankly, I bet this would work very well. It would start the wheels turning in the minds of the recipients. That it would work well, so cheaply, is one reason why it will never be implemented because its racist, discriminates against the transgendered ambidextrous, and is profiling at its worst. Do I have it about right?

Of course, we will have to hire 100,000 texters for the “new” Cabinet-level Department of Texting. Congress will have to appropriate $100 billion to operate the department. DHS will have to order another billion rounds of 9mm HP ammo.

In addition to the texters, support staff (IT, Office Admin), field agents, etc.)will be needed. They will be housed in a brand new office building. And the regime will announce that unemployment is down to 0.2%!

The absurdity of this proposal is only outweighed by the incredible stupidity of DE voters who awarded this deadbeat another six-year term.

Text them that their time will expire on a certain date, later than their real due date, and suggest they come in to apply for an extension on or before a day about halfway to that date. If they show up, handle the requests appropriately, yes or no. If they don’t show up or at least respond, then you know they are not planning to leave. Find and evict them.

Letting them think they have extra time may delay their planned efforts to relocate and hide out, so they can be caught more easily.
