Hey all! Figured i'd throw up the build we are working on!

Another LS12 build

We're currently in the process of building this one, the crank is almost done and finished the cam earlier today.

Found this 1471 littlefield blower laying around so we decided to make a new intake for the next step.

Have several already completed blocks layin around so this is the first one we've built that we're going to be putting in our own car! Plan is for this one to go in a Datsun 240z.

I'll update when we get further!

Such awsomness cannot go unreported!

I've been looking for an engine for my home built car... Was going with a salvaged Viper V-10, but now...

The entire, "How we did it", is farther down the post chain in the discussion. Truely inspirational!

Will it get good gas mileage?

Bad news. Barry just issued an executive order banning all LS1 V12’s.

I hope they have a video camera going when the built-up crank disintegrates.

This is pretty darn cool.

Cool squared, actually, for a) having the tools and skills to do it, and b) actually DOING it!

Build it to run on Natural Gas.

(Then you won't need any gasoline)

Interesting.
I had a concept of taking a 2 cycle Detroit Diesel engine the 6V71 series and converting it to a gasoline engine, it will still be a two cycle but it will have a gasoline fuel injection, a pulse coil for the ignition system, basically a gigantic 2 cycle engine balanced for high speed.

Why screw around? Just make it a V-16.

Not my engine, it’s a weld up of two LS1’s. I’m still going through hte thread, but for every V-12 they make, they have parts left over for a V-4...

It’s a foot and a half long... It would fit into my MGA!

Of course not! I never stated that I did! I found it and posted this. It’s awsome!

And I did give credit where it’s due if you’re headed down that road.

Check the author line!

In about 1970 I saw two dragsters with twin V-8 engines. They were capable of running a quarter mile at over 200 mph on gasoline rather than the nitro methane that typically fueled the 200+ mph dragsters.

Didn’t Micky Thompson have a dragster with 4 V8’? I belive he ran it at the Bonneville Flats back in the late 50’s. Correct me if I am wrong.
