FBI: "Exercise Caution And Attempt To Verify Information Through Appropriate Official Channels Before Reporting"
Does that mean everyone has to check with the white house before any news can be reported?
That is what I am starting to wonder.
in other words, the FBI is lagging internet forums like godlike productions and FR in busting analysis of events, and Matt Drudge in breaking them
Yeah so some State Dept lackey can go all over the airwaves with their version of the story before the truth leaks out later...
Yep. Tech at work.
Alex Jones will now add 6 new DVD sets on just the Boston Marathon Bombings.
curious that there was a bomb scare at the federal building right around the time a suspect would have appeared before a judge for arraignment.
GEE!!
This sounds and smells just like when The Connecticut State Police attempted to crack down on all neews about the Sandy Hook shootings, doesn’t it?
At my gym, there is a row of big-screen TVs in front of my favorite bar-dip machine. One TV was tuned to CNN today. I did three sets of bar-dips, and the CNN banner headline changed during each set.
First CNN proclaimed that a suspect had been arrested for the Boston bombing. A few minutes later, the headline read that the suspect had been identified, but not yet arrested. Finally CNN said the suspect had not yet been identified.
A guy on a machine next to me said CNN should just put up a banner that reads, “We’re just making this stuff to keep you watching until the next commercial break.”
Since they’re saying a “dark skinned” person, all the press is saying “We can’t jump to conclusions”. If they were looking for a white guy every reporte would be screaming TEA PARTY RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS!
Well, consider the process. FBI has to determine, from within the hospital and in the field, if the Saudi has enough incriminating evidence to get a judge to issue an arrest warrant. The warrant data is public domain, no? Unless there
are ‘extenuating $$$Diplomatic Saudi Uncle circumstances’.
So there’s no public warrant. In the meantime, the patient can ‘develop’ some complications his flown-in Saudi doctor observes, curbing his release. Assuming the Saudi in the hospital is the one, this could go on forever and ever. HIPPA prevents his name from being released to anybody.
Does any network want a huge HIPPA lawsuit PLUS pissing off
their Saudi owners?
Do they mean the WH and politicians?
I's settle for old fashioned checking of reliable sources before going on the air with unsubstantiated rumors, and wild a$$ guesses. There has been so much carp put on the air since the first minutes after the bombings that it's hard even now to figure out what was true, and what wasn't. In their rush to be 'first with the story' the news channels often put people on the air who 'heard someone say' something, then they report that, and everyone who hears it considers it fact, and THEY tell others, and there is confusion and suspicion from the get-go.
I've learned to ignore anything that's reported in the first 24 hours after something like this, unless I hear it from the lips of someone who KNOWS something about the situation, and can back up their story with evidence.
