Gang of Eight Bill Opens Door to Bigger Amnesty By Fred Bauer April 16, 2013
Over at Talking Points Memo, Benjy Sarlin has posted a legislative summary of the Gang of Eight immigration-reform proposal, which is due to be released by tomorrow. Assuming this summary draft is accurate, one thing is clear: This proposal truly lives up to the name of comprehensive immigration reform. It would be a far-ranging proposal, one that would substantially transform the immigration system of the United States.
The major parts of the bill seem to include: a process for legalizing current illegal immigrants, a few provisions for enforcement, new provisions for employer-based immigration, new provisions for guest workers, and a legalization and guest-worker program for agricultural workers. The Los Angeles Times has a fair summary of the bill, as does Justin Green. Theres a lot that could be said about the actual text of the proposal (and Im sure much will be said about it), but two heretofore-undiscussed portions of the bill stand out.
The first is the size of the amnesty. Most media reports describe the bill as offering a path to citizenship for around 11 million illegal immigrants, but the number of illegal immigrants legalized by the bill could be much larger than that.
According to this summary, illegal immigrants could register for Registered Provisional Immigrant Status if they have resided in the United States since December 31, 2011. This status could be maintained for six years and could be renewed for another six years.
After ten years in RPI status, individuals could apply for a green card. There is no requirement that an immigrant need to have worked to receive RPI status.

I’ll bet we’re looking at around 30 to 40 million with this massive AMNESTY bill. This should just about do it for ObamaCare. Maybe that’s what Barry and his ‘RATS want. Collapse their ObamaCare because they know it is not workable. Destroy the healthcare system so that it no longer exists in this country. Set up the Mother of all Death Panels.
Obama, Democrats, ACLU, La Raza, liberal courts, etc. will line up with them.
Marco Rubio is not stupid-- he knows this is the case, so why is pushing forward anyway?
treason all around
The GOP tentacle of the Eight Gangbangers seem to be trying to make this thing bigger than even their ‘RAT pals want it to be. The GOOBers just don’t know when to quit compromising. They’re a bunch of compromising fools now. Probably all of those free lunches Barry fed them.
You mean like the real, extensive and certian fraud that occured during the 86 amnesty. It also appears that securing the border will have the same priority as it has since 1986, 27 years later we are still waiting for that. I guess this means we will still be waiting 27 years from now.
As I have said before, the Republican Party will be viewed by history as the party that could have stopped the destruction of the Republic but just stood by and watched it happen.
They will be accomplices in the "fundamental transformation of America".
TWO ISSUES THAT WON’T BE RAISED
(1)When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? This has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T
(2) What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ? While we encourage wholesale abortion as the Godless Demo-Coms socialists encourage population control. Then complain the US is not reproducing enough to replace its aging supply of workers to keep their welfare ponzie schemes supplied with tax money to keep the system working.
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .
Imagine how many there will be "next time," 50 to 60 million more from South of the Border!
For all who voted for RINO Republicans in the last election, this is your reward. You got the same timid, politically correct and corrupt politicians you wanted.
You knew they would “sell you down the river” in a heartbeat.
Look now, they’ve even got the the point of putting you in chains and forcing you to be a slave to both the government and forced to commit ethnic suicide.
When the GOP elected Romney to run, it was the death blow to the party. It had absolutely no chance of winning the election.
However good Republicans continued to throw away their votes for the party no matter what instead of using them to send a message by voting for independent candidates of rising new political parties that are actually conservative.
We will see this lemming mindset in the upcoming 2014 elections all over again and no one will even look back to see how fruitless it was the last time.
It’s time for a new party that actually supports conservatives before it’s too late. The Republican party can’t be fixed. An example is “the party of 8” that is currently “selling us down the river” in the immigration scandal.

CALL the Capitol Hill switchboard at 888-978-3094 today.
Dear friends of sensible immigration policies,
Its official, the Gang of 8 has introduced S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, the largest amnesty and immigration increase bill this nation has ever seen. You can be among the first to let your Senators know there is widespread opposition to amnesty and massive increases in foreign workers by calling the Capitol Hill switchboard at 888-978-3094 today.
While the bill is half as long as promised, its at least twice as bad as expected.
