How have we come to the point where so many criminals, terrorists and radical leftists from the 1960′s hold so many prominent positions in American academia?
Michael Moynihan of The Daily Beast explains.
How 1960s Radicals Ended Up Teaching Your Kids
Last week, Rutgers University fired its mercurial basketball coach after he was videotaped shoving, grabbing and throwing balls at players in practice and using gay slurs, according to ESPN. Under pressure from school administrators, Rutgers athletic director, who had previously defended the coachs behavior, resigned. It was an appropriate response: violent oafs should be fired from their university jobs for violent, oafish behavior.
On the same day ESPN broadcast the Rutgers tape, The New York Post reported that Kathy Boudin, a professor at Columbia University, was named the 2013 Sheinberg Scholar-in-Residence at NYU Law School. In 1984, Boudin, a member of the Weather Underground, a violent, oafish association of upper-class revolutionaries, pled guilty to second-degree murder in association with the infamous 1981 Brinks armored car robbery in Nyack, New York. Babbling in the language of anti-racism and anti-imperialism, Boudin assisted in ending the life of three people, including Waverly Brown, the first black police officer on the Nyack police force, and left nine children fatherless. She was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. In 2003, Boudin was released; by 2008 she had landed a coveted teaching position at an Ivy League university....

No sh!t!
We weren’t sleeping.....
we were busy watching Quickdraw McGraw and The Flintstones and Scooby Do and Gilligan’s Island and .......
Lemme add: the SuperBowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup, the Olympics, the Rose Bowl, the Orange Bowl, the Masters Tournaments ...and on and on and on.
What did I read yesterday....that Obama is worth over $12 million now? Debbie Whatsherface Schultz is tooling around in a Corvette. How about Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi? Are they living in unheated apartments? There are communists in the Democrat party, but the leaders sure aren’t communist. Who here thinks that Hillary Clinton is figuring out how to give away all their money? And that’s not to say that the real communists won’t jump up and cut the throats of the Democrat leaders and try to take over. But......
“Understand yourself and understand your opponents and in one hundred battles you will not be defeated.”
We must understand that there are communists in the Democrat party, but they are run by con men.....thieves......pickpockets. Our strategy should be directed against thieves and not against communists. Destroy the Democrat party, and the communists have no place to hide.
Listen to this man. What he says is entirely correct. A lot of the campus radicals never left the campus.
I have been hearing something about Common Core on Glenn Beck but just yesterday on our local radio this is already being tested in our schools here. From what I could gather from that short report, the teachers seem to like it.
The Disney Plastic Kingdumb reminds me of Las Vegas in its ability to isolate a person from reality.
Didn’t we know this all along. Look at our schools today. We are lucky if they can sign their names when they leave school. Students today can’t add, subtract, or divide. They are unable to spell or complete sentences and surely know little or anything about America except the lies fed to them by the progressives
Education was corrupted long ago by enlightenment philosophies that overemphasize “rights” at the expense of truth. If we would put truth at the pinnacle of philosophical inquiry, then life would start to calm down, and genuine issues about rights come into clearer focus.
I think another, more overlooked factor was the "space age" / beat-the-Soviets education movement that came just before the era of the hippie. Stateside propagandists of the "space age" believed the best way to beat the Soviets was to retool their behaviorist advertising methods to incorporate the glorification of science and mathematics in the halls of education, while they remained steadfast disbelievers in classical republican virtues in keeping with their ideological godfather Edward Bernays. So in a very real sense, American and Soviet education shared parallel undercurrents -- a belief that real freedom of the human personality didn't exist or didn't matter, and that economics was basically everything. Naturally, decadence finds a home on such a playing field.
You can watch old film reels -- for example, documentaries about superhighways and suspension bridges -- that convey in thundering masculine voices an overblown optimism that science and mathematics can serve as the bedrocks of society. Yet nowadays, nobody with a strong sense of gritty realism believes that those things have much to say about our civilizational crisis.
There is a gigantic, ambitious, self-willed monster at the heart of the enlightenment glorification of the self, its will, and its "rights", even in America, that few people can bear to look in the eye. We need to look that beast in the eye.
“There is a gigantic, ambitious, self-willed monster at the heart of the enlightenment glorification of the self”
Yes, his name is Lucifer.
