A retired Western Washington University professor testified to a Republican-controlled state Senate committee Tuesday that climate change stopped in 1998 and that human-caused greenhouse gases are not responsible for fluctuations in the Earth's temperatures or melting polar ice caps.
The startling testimony from emeritus professor Don Easterbrook is at odds with an apparent consensus among climate scientists and climate-science literature about human causes behind the the rise in global temperatures over the past century. His testimony came one day after the Legislature sent Gov. Jay Inslee a bill that sets up a legislative work group to study Washington's best strategy for addressing climate change.

Retired profs have nothing to lose by telling the truth. Not so true of the employed who are pressured to toe the line by their needs for grants.
For later
“Consensus” on “climate change” means they will all agree to continue to seek grants to study (and affirm)”climate change.”
I knew a scientist. He didn't retire, but he got fed up and left in disgust and changed industries.
The “settled science” is fake but accurate. I swear it.
Watch out, they’ll probably take away his Social Security payments.
tHE SO-CALLED CONSENSUS IS ALSO FAKED DATA.
I love how the democrats kept telling him it is “hotter” even though the data says otherwise.
And as to what Washington State should do about climate change, the obvious answer is ... nothing.
CO2 is the primary source of Carbon for all life on and in the Earth.
Without CO2 life on Earth would be restricted to other, less abundant, sources of Carbon such as CO and CH4.
CO2 in thus an environmentally essential, AND environmentally friendly gas.
CO2 and taxes are similar in that they are good at low concentrations, but toxic at high concentrations.
Global Warming still has no known cause that can be documented by experimental cause and effect experiments.
Consequently, Global Warming remains a speculation in the same realm as the Moon being made of cheese.
IF there are known cause and effect experiments on the change in temperature with a change in CO2 concentration, THEN what peer-reviewed Scientific Journal has published an article on this topic, and what is the title and date of that article?
This is a poorly written article meant to inflame from the very first sentence. Washington State DOES NOT have a Republican Senate majority. All three houses, Governor, House and Senate are all in the Dim majority. What has happened, two fiscally conservative Democrats in the Senate have formed a coalition with the R’s to deal with budget issues.
I quit reading after the first lie by the author in the first sentence. WWU is a far, far left school, it says a lot when one of its comrades, I mean faculty, speaks the truth about the fraud in the science community concerning supposed anthropogenic climate change.
Yeah, "consensus" used to be that the Earth was flat and the center of the universe... Climate consensus makes about as much sense.
Much bias there, Brad Shannon? Certainly not startling to anybody who pays attention to the AGW hoax and scare-mongering.
I make that here. I use intestinal bacteria to convert trisaccharides into that.
It's all natural and completely organic.
How about some more beans Mr Taggart?

I spent 25 years of my career in electric power. When utility marketing programs became nothing but efforts to convince customers to use less of their product, when they stopped building new conventional plants, when they capitulated to the extreme radical environmentalists instead of fighting them, and when people like John Bryson were made Chairman, CEO and President of Edison International, I knew it was time for me to leave the industry. I, too, left in disgust.
My ex-wife. an MIT grad and expert in environmental computer modeling, recently joined other skeptical scientists in signing a statement saying there is no conclusive proof for man-made global warming. She’s also a super lib, but is a scientist first.
CH4 is also an inorganic gas from the Earth, no beans about it!
