Since Senator Dianne Feinsteins (D-CA) massive gun control bill is going down in flames due to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reids (D-NV) decision to stop it in its tracks, that didnt mean that the gun grab was over. In fact, that seems to have been all political theater. The real threat comes in Harry Reids own S 649 bill, or as its innocuous title is referred to as Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013. Its anything but safe for communities, schools or freedom and has sweeping legislation that has the potential to destroy gun ownership in America. Because of its introduction last Thursday, it will probably be brought up immediately following the Easter recess.
The bills summary says that it is To ensure that all individuals who should be prohibited from buying a firearm are listed in the national instant criminal background check system and require a background check for every firearm sale, and for other purposes.
According to Gun Owners of America:
We expected it to contain the Veterans Gun Ban, which would mean that you would sell, gift, or raffle a gun in America at the risk of a 15-year prison sentence because of something you didnt know about the veteran/buyer.
But, surprisingly to us, the Far Left has convinced Reid to include the original Schumer version of the Universal Registry Bill. This would ban private sales of firearms, unless purchasers first get the permission from the government. If Senators can pass this de facto registration bill, they will be well on the way to confiscation (see, for example, Governor Andrew Cuomo in New York, who has a gun owner registry and has called for gun confiscation). If this bill is passed, Senators will claim that they broke the back of gun owners in America.
GOA also pointed out that there is still every evidence that Reid will move to proceed to the bill under regular order, which means he will need 60 votes to advance to the gun control buffet.
The only no compromise Second Amendment organization also said that anti-gun zealots have begun to use the ObamaCare Paradigm to threaten, bribe, and coerce senators into submission on the most far-reaching aspects of gun control, including Feinsteins proposal to ban shotguns, rifles and handguns that millions of Americans legally own. So if the motion to proceed to S. 649 is adopted with 60 votes, then Feinsteins ban could be passed in the Senate with only 50 votes (plus Biden).
We have a Second Amendment for a reason and it isn’t about hunting. Our right to keep and bear arms is to deter politicians like Harry Reid from trampling our other liberties.
The Democrat party has ceased to be,
They wish total control over you and me.
Socialists and Communists they have become,
Destroy America, their rule number one ,
Cutting the military their ultimate goal,
Along with selling their devilish soul.
Drones in the sky in the land of the free,
So they can keep tabs on you and me.
The Second Amendment they HATE you see,
Because it means freedom for you and me.
They tap our phones and e-mail too,
They are afraid of what we can do.
They want my guns, they are saying to me,
Not as long as I breath and able to see.
I took my oath and went to Nam,
They WILL NOT get guns from this old man !
Many have died for the red white and blue,
If the need arises, I will too.
Guns from my hands they will have to pry,
MOLON LABE is the battle cry !!!!!!
Looks like so far they’re being successful with all the government buying of ammunition - for practicing you know.
One of the reasons I left the NRA is that they give money to DemocRATS—Harry Reid among them.
Given recent developments in the Senate, I wonder if the NRA is going to ask Reid for a refund.
The real threat are the RINOs who shot down Sharon Angle. She may not have been perfect, but she was far preferable to this treasonous backstabbing little crook.
“The real threat are the RINOs who shot down Sharon Angle.”
Along with the NRA, who supported Reid
Our “senators” need a long drop from a short rope for even thinking about attacking the US Constitution, which is exactly what they are doing, right now.
“Listen, nothing can or will stop the confiscation of all your guns.”
Speak for yourself. You damn sure don’t speak for me.
“Listen, nothing can or will stop the confiscation of all your guns. I see a lot of talk but nothing solid that can stop it from happening. At least half or more Americans don’t give a damn as long as King Obama feeds them. We have been introduced to communism and it is getting stronger and stronger. “
Then may America BURN...
Heard a commercial on the radio to call your senator about supporting gun control. I was so ticked when I heard it so I called Sen Jeff Flake’s office. His staff said Flake wasn’t sure where he stood on the issue of gun registrastion.
She said he needs to hear from his constituents before he decides.
I was floored. They got an ear full from me. People need to get on the phones and not let up!
If all gun owners refused to turn over their guns there’s not enough cops to take the guns and not enough prisons to hold them. But, sadly I believe most gun owners will turn in their guns if told to do so.
I’m positive 90% of the liberals will turn them in. They’ll do anything their king tells them to do.
Yea, but it's the other half who own the guns ;-)
I cant turn mine in...lost 'em...boating accident...tragic...the whole safe...
Apparently you don't know many gun owners........
In FACT why the hell are you here!?!?!?
Surprised you said that.....
And you have an army to stop it. Wake up. Simple words will stop nothing. Grow up
It will unless the BS talk turns into something that will work. Talk won't. The Republicans have nothing but talk to work with. It is getting past the point where if something does not happen it never will. This is exactly the way Nazi Germany went. I'm very old and seen shit happen.
