Im going to tell you a true story, but to protect my friends privacy and OPSECas all good preppers should doIm going to remain as anonymous as possible. Im telling you because I believe in helping people and I like to imagine a world after SHTF where we help each other rather than hinder each other, so here it goes
I recently had the opportunity to visit a friends bug-out property. What started out as a dream for land outside of the city for a nice get-away to keep animals and a shooting range turned into the perfect place to start a bug-out plan in motion.
Thatz just stoopit. You’re not gonna die.
Your my buddy. I’ll take care of you....
I am betting only if the beer has run out!
See Lazamataz you will be fine! Besides us ‘ants’ always need a token ‘grasshooper’ around to keep us from getting to serious! ;-)
Hey, don’ be hatin’ on Kartographer. Be angry at the zombie mind control machine operators that force you to read Prepper articles.
I for one appreciate his, JRandom’s and others’ posts. I implement to the level I am comfortable with, but gain a lot of knowledge to make informed choices.
I bet you can skip them as easily as I find them.
Lazamataz: "VI, would you kindly inform driftdriver how long we have left, and what happens then?"
VI: "There is approximately 52 minutes left of backup electric power. When depleted, the H.I.T.s device will trigger. The H.I.T.s device is a high-impulse thermobaric fuel-air explosive consists of a two-stage aerosol ignition which produces a blast wave of significantly greater power and duration than any other known explosive except nuclear. The vacuum-pressure effect ignites the oxygen between 5,000 and 6,000 degrees and is used when the greatest loss of life and damage to structures is desired."
Yeah, it's weird. So I guy like me that -- because of my own stupid decisions, has been completely unable to prepare AT ALL -- will probably end up in perfect shape, well fed, no injuries, leader of a small community.
While the guys that were painstaking in their preperation end up dead in days.
God LOVES doin' stuff like that. :)
(I hope alla y'all make it tho)
If you don't like a certain part of town, don't drive there.
If you don't like a certain TV show, change the channel or throw the TV out the window.
If you don't like "prepper" posts here on FR, don't click on them.
One of the things that separates conservatives from liberals is that conservatives are happy to live and let live - we are all free to have our own ideas and beliefs as long as we do not try to harm others or take their freedoms away.
Liberals preach diversity but really demand uniformity. They brag about their "Big Tent" party but have no room under the tent for anyone who might have an idea or a view different from theirs. They expect everyone to think they way they think and live the way they approve of.
That's not the kind of attitude we expect here at FR
Lets see where you are now. On post 51, you want my death and my brains eaten the first day the country collapses, if it does, and you say in posts after 51, we clog this site with prepper threads and you dont want to be on FR with prepper threads clogging this site. You express hatred for all preppers on FR.
You have kicked this up a notch to include the owner of the site, Jim Robinson, as it is his decision whether or not there are prepper threads on FR. I have pinged him so he will know you object to prepper threads clogging FR. Perhaps he will give an opinion as to whether prepper threads are ruining FR. He can shut us down any time he wants. He can also shut you down from wishing our deaths just because we prep for more than two weeks and we make posts to help others prepare.
Pretty sad you had to add a 4th category.
But it’s a useful list to have, in order to be able to classify others based on their intents and possible harm later on. Many anti-preppers are also in the liberal category - in my book, to be treated with extreme caution because their agenda will be more important to them than anything else while they still have food and shelter and when they don’t, they’ll rationalize being entitled to stealing it from others.
So SHTF is now a snow storm?
Funny how you guys always define SHTF down whenever we have these little chats.
That wouldn’t be because the SHTF of your fantasies — total societal collapse — is too farfetched to be a legit justification for the extreme prepper lifestyle you advocate, would it?
Or, if you’re just advocating the keeping of a few weeks worth of supplies on hand to get you through the worst part of any disaster that has any likelihood of actually happening, then we have nothing to disagree about. I’ve said several times that I think this level of “prepping” makes sense.
That's called projection.
I lived for over a year and a half on stored supplies and grown or foraged stuff after the market crash of 2008. Don't tell me 2 weeks is enough.

I’ve been through snow storms when the electricity went out and stayed out. Travel was impossible. Anyone on the roads was likely to end up trapped for several days at least.
Heck an uncle of mine was trapped for 4 days with his car completely buried by snow in -40 F weather. He only survived because he had stuff in his car.
Yardstick Opinions are like...well you know the rest. The solution is simple: If you don't care for a thread's subject, then don't click on it (hint: anything to do w/prepping).
Don't go away mad, just go away.
Okay. Well here is a plan, maybe you should just not open prepper threads...easy solution. There are many threads here that I just don’t open, don’t interest me and I don’t care what is posted there.
Lazamataz consider that post a bequeath from me to you should I not survive SHTF and you do!
Yeah, I guess they think their utopian world will finally be achieved when no one has anything (everyone has nothing).
If you don’t like prepper threads, stay off them. Pretty simple, eh.
