Here’s the story: a patient (who doesn’t want to be named) was at a VA hospital for a colonoscopy — not a routine one, but because of a problem that could be serious. As he tells it:
9 am in or prep room IV and muscle relaxant … given- they’ll give me heavier dose of something before they go in. Sat there near an hour when lady walks in “Govt Shut down. If you’re not in, they’re out.” that was it. Went to patient advocate she had been sent home almost as soon as she arrived I’m guessing to head off volume of complaints...."

Isn’t it a simpler explanation this actually happened, and it is being blamed on the sequester? They are releasing THOUSANDS of jailed illegal aliens, turning ships back to port etc, and people wonder if they would do this?

The V.A. is NOT government “assistance.” It is earned.
While i am of the belief that VA healthcare should be treated more like an insurance the fact is that its an earned benefit vets receive through sacrifice..he shouldnt have to wait because freeloaders in Chicago receive precedence for being too lazy to work.
But as others have said this doesnt smell kosher.
but from what I hear of the VA...its hit and miss when you get in ...my bil's both on VA have been waiting weeks to find out when their surgeries will be done....and then, when the date is set, they better be sure they keep the appts because the next time will be a much longer wait...
If he’s like me, he uses the VA system because he doesn’t have private medical insurance or $950.
The way I understand it the VA budget stands alone and is appropriated in two year cycles. I don’t know how it is authorized but I don’t think the executive branch has much to do with it.
Of course, when has precedent or laws mattered to the thugocracy in the white hut?

I read your posting 4 times and was troubled by it. Particularly by 12 year old know nothings piling it on in the comments section. My financial situation is similar to yours and the VA is my provider. I have trouble believing this report. The VA is not affected by this “sequestering”
What surprizes me is that your source is PJ. Now the major newsites like britebart also includes PJ when they do a story like this they identify the location. Charlie Martin the reporter doesn’t do that in this report. Unless you left it out which I don’t think you did.
Things are bad enough with this regime but it doesn’t help making up stuff which can be disproven because it casts suspicion when actual malfeasance and corruption is reported.
I'm going to the VA on Tuesday. We shall see what happens.

In my original comment, I granted that the commie administration would certainly do such unnecessary things in order to make a scene so they can blame Republicans, but that these things are not real--real in the sense of being something needful. These are sham, lawless acts of a communist administration--just like the release of criminal aliens. That is not to say that someone is not out there testifying that this happened to him--whether it's true or not.
Since Obama has the authority to decide where the money is spent, with the noted exception already in law that he will ignore anyway, its only natural that he would target those he considers his enemies and so too will the bureaucrats who have such contempt for us. Remember his cut backs on support planes used to put out fires. Remember the Texas fires and refused to declare it a disaster site where people where hit. Little attention given to the flood in Tennessee further back. All these areas are more rugged and populated with people less inclined to hook on sugar dad’s hind tit.
