On Wednesday, comedian Chris Rock appeared on Capitol Hill with other celebrities to express support for Obama's gun control proposals. While there, he called the president America's "boss" and said that he and First Lady Michelle Obama are the country's parents.
"I am just here to support the President of the United States," he said. "President of the United States is our boss, but he is also... you know, the president and the first lady are kinda like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something you listen, and when you don't it will usually bite you on the a** later on. So, Im here to support the President."
Rock made his comments while participating in a press conference with the pro-gun control groups Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence.
Twitchy reported that a number of conservatives on Twitter schooled the comedian on Obama's role in American government.
"You obviously need a civics lesson. The President of the United States is employed by We The People. He is not the boss...WE are," tweeted "Freedom Petition."
"This is what's wrong with our society. This has dangerous implications," another person said...

Didn’t he have his own parents????
I know I did/have and no way is zero the boss of me.
My mother for POTUS!
One Rock out of a box of ‘em. And Lord Hussein ain’t my boss, bro.
Told in the same spirit as Chris Rock - you made me laugh tonight.
BTW, I am trying to remember - Did Chrissie ever make that same statement during GWB’s stint in the WH?
Yes. Exhibit A: How to not get your ass kicked by the police
I had a dad who fought in the korean war. Adopted four kids. Never missed a day of work and lived his life as if the phrase “ salt of the earth” was invented with him in mind. There is no way in hell that i would ever think of that social climbing, pot smoking, retarded bastard child of white trash as family to me. Of course i feel sorry for some in our country who obviously werent as fortunate as me.
Chris Brown should give Obama his proper title of “Overseer”.
“One who keeps watch over and directs the work of others, especially laborers or slaves.”
"Yes suh, Boss massa suh!"
What did this turd blossom have to say about supporting President Bush for those 8 years of liberal outrage?
So annelizly, tell us how you REALLY feel about our boy president! LOL
The libs idol worshiped FDR as well.
His name describes what’s between his ears.
Was President Bush black?
I wonder if he felt that way about Mr &Mrs Bush? Was W “the boss”, did he consider them the `mom and dad` who should be obeyed? Isn`t it ironic to hear a black man in 2013 still wanting a “massa”?
Chris, my BOSS pays my hard earned salary.
My Father is GOD
My Mom and Dad, they sure as HELL ain’t named Obama.
Dad, can I borrow The Beast and 4 million to go golf?
They idol worship anyone who passes out freebies.
And he said this about Bush too, right?
They idolize anyone Big Hollywood says they should. You won’t get awards or good gigs otherwise.
I understand Chris Rock may have no clue who his father is but that skinny-assed, marxist Kenyan is definitely not my father and that cow whos acting as his beard is clearly not my mother.
...I’m sorry...but, acting as his beard???
I see that Chris is acknowledging his massa! Sadly 93% of the African American community support him and don’t even realize the implications of their blind support of massa.
