The White House has released a photo of President Obama skeet shooting at Camp David from August, 2012, attempting to quell a controversy that arose when Obama said that he sympathized with hunters because he frequently went shooting himself.
Attn skeet birthers. Make our day - let the photoshop conspiracies begin!, former White House advisor David Plouffe tweeted in a message containing a link to a photo of Obama brandishing a shot gun and wearing ear muffs and sun glasses.
Conservative critics questioned the veracity of the Obamas claims of skeet shooting because he had never been seen publicly shooting a gun.
If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said in a television interview after Obamas remarks were made public.
Why have we not seen photos, Blackburn continued. Why has he not referenced it at any point in time as we have had this gun debate that is ongoing?
Blackburn challenged Obama to hold a skeet-shooting contest with her...

The big problem is the background. He must have been standing in front of the “low house” aiming parallel to the road, or path, which runs along the woods there. At least this checks with his left handedness ( note “Swoosh” checks OK, ) but it is an awkward arrangement.
In other photos, shooters can be seen standing near the “high house” on the other side, aiming generally outward, but of course those photos prominently feature the house itself. It is curious that it is such a tight shot.
And say, how come I don’t see anybody saying what kind of gun that is. I guess the upward puff is due to a muzzle brake designed to compensate for “kick”. It’s hard to find another example image of this, though. And what’s with the brass muzzle fitting?
So is a posed picture the same as a real in action picture?
sure looks posed to me, was it done yesterday? at camp David?
Wow! He’s shooting skeet with a RIFLE! What a GREAT shot he must be!
Good observation, could be or..Photo taken on camp David helicopter pad road.
They were to lazy to walk 1/4 mile to camp David skeet range for the pr photo taken for election that was never used.
Camp David skeet range has wooden fence around it.
I wondered if anyone was going to mention that.
He doesn't know how to shoulder a shotgun.
They blew it doctoring his BC—they blew it doctoring skeeter!

Oh, yes, Mighty Massa King 0bama! Thank you so much for letting me live another day in your phantasmagorical kingdom!!!
It’s a Browning Citori Lighting Sporting Clays, and it is “ported” which is supposed to reduce muzzle jump (never could tell on any of my ported guns). The fitting is an extended choke tube, which allows for quick changing of chokes on the sporting course for differing shots. The bottom either has a flush mounted choke tube, or no tube (not a good idea).
If that was a real shotgun he’d have quite the bruise on his cheekbone if not a cracked one. That stock is hard into his cheek. Plus if that’s a supposed recent picture that grass and stuff looks way too green for this time of year. Be interesting to find out when that picture was Photoshopped, er, I mean, taken.
Lots of other websites/blogs are starting to echo what you wrote. The Kennedy photo is appearing a lot. And there are also sites ridiculing the skeet truthers.
That seemed a bit off to me as well. I know if he took five shots with it shouldered like that he probably hurt for a week and never wanted to try it again. Poor shouldering would just increase the hurt to the cheekbone too.
I learned real quick off my dad’s Winchester 98 30-30.
Another reason it’s a faked pose is, his pants aren’t wet after he fired.
I know exactly what you mean. You can play basketball poorly and still enjoy playing it for hours at at time. You can’t hold a 12 ga shotgun poorly and enjoy continued shooting. He said he goes skeet shooting “all the time.” So I suppose the only pic they had was of the first shot he ever fired? Yeah, right. lol
And how sooo convenient and quickly Dear Leader came up with a picture of his shooting skills. Plus, where’s the other folks and the range safety officer and why is everything so greeeen???
Sometime close to either 0 or ∞.
Good catch. If that were a semi-auto he might have been on his third shot. Notice it didn’t show him hitting anything.
The only thing missing is his bike helmet.
From wiki; There are two houses that hold devices known as traps that launch the targets, one at each corner of the semicircle. The traps launch the targets to a point 15 feet above ground and 18 feet outside of station 8. One trap launches targets from 10 feet above the ground (high house) and the other launches it from 3 feet above ground (low house).
Yep, but I betcha they launch at a slightly upward angle so the target would be 20+ feet off the ground. I could be wrong, but I'll bet there are Freepers who can provide the answer.
