Lee Goodman of Stop Concealed Carry was one of the panelists at the Chicago-area anti-gun forum featured in my prior post, Veteran stands up for 2nd Amendment at Chicago anti-gun forum.
During that event Goodman and Iraq war veteran Kevin Tully had a back-and-forth discussion of the 2nd Amendment. In a video I took, which now has over 160,000 YouTube views, Tully is seen calling for an end to partisan divide in the country, and giving an impassioned defense not only of the 2nd Amendment, but of 1st Amendment rights.
After the event, Goodman wrote a blog post titled ”Overthrowing the Government“ in which he analogized the audience standing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to Nazi beer hall conduct (emphasis added):
"The Illinois State Rifle Association had asked their people – who love their guns more than they care about other people’s lives – to go to the forum. They showed up and, on a pre-arranged signal, interrupted the moderator’s introductions by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. There’s nothing wrong with pledging allegiance, but this demonstration was designed to take control of the meeting and display their power. You may have seen something like it in movies like Cabaret and The Sound of Music, which chronicle how Nazis would intimidate patrons of beer halls and other public events by singing, saluting, scowling, taking names, and following up with beatings.
I was not there when the crowd stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, as there was a delay at the door getting in, but to compare this crowd of patriotic Americans standing for the Pledge of Allegiance to a Nazi beer hall Putsch is pretty outrageous...

I don’t think most Nazis thought of themselves as evil people. When the Nazis rounded up guns, for example, I’m pretty sure most of them thought it was a good thing. I doubt more than a few knew where gun control was leading.
That said, there are Nazi-like, i.e. socialist and totalitarian but not necessarily nationalistic, folks in power today. I doubt any of them see it that way. I’m sure they think they’re creating a better world.
It really comes down to this: everyone has an opinion on guns, but the US Constitution says we have the right to bear arms. If the gun control folks want to change the constitution, I won’t support a change to confiscate guns, but I’ll defend their right to lawfully enact that change should they have enough votes and states to do so.
On the other hand, we’ve seen the left pervert the clear meaning of the constitution time and time again over decades. Public use does NOT mean public purpose, as in making more tax revenue by handing private property over to other private owners, interstate commerce does NOT mean telling farmers what they can and cannot grow on their own property for their own consumption, and the power to tax income does not mean imposing all sorts of income fines if you don’t do whatever the government says. If that’s how far the left wants to go with guns, I say not another inch!

Americans have the creator endowed right and freedom to bear arms enshrined in the United States Constitution, Second Amendment, reserving the right for citizens to keep and bear arms, among other rights, including the right to free speech and religion, to a trial by a jury of peers, the right to privacy and to peaceably assemble. Our rights are being trampled to death by the Jack Booted Democrat thugs pushing women to combat, gays to marriage, maniacs who murdered 50 million babies in 40 years, two generations of American babies lost in a genocide by Democrats murdering our unborn innocent babies, and meanwhile jacking up taxes with no representation on laws like making like the Obamacare catastrophe, blowing through the $16 Trillion debt ceiling like a hot rod through a school zone. Why even have the charade of income taxes when the government prints more than half the cash of what it spends? Why tax at all? Just print and Spend!! The economy is a shambles, millions are on welfare, America has triple defificits in government spending, in balance of trade, and in saving wealth, we are exporting our currency reserves, while the banks are run by criminal thieves. Houses are worthless, unemployment is rampant, physical violence, petty crime and race riots run amok, and people are living in fear. This will not stand, this sham of government will end in the manner that all egregious villainous governments have ended before, ignominiously.
Civil disobedience is the only way to start to respond to the gun grabber initiative by the elitist nationalist socialist political and financialist subjugator progressive communists. They have one agenda: subjugation by force. They intend to fully destroy our nation and freedoms, and have clearly announced their plans of subjugation. There is only one answer to a tyrannical government: end it by all means necessary -— such has been the lesson of history. It is your personal moral duty and ethical mandate to end government tyranny in your life.
