Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, acting ostensibly on the recommendations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, left as his parting shot another Obama-inspired blow at the structure of our society. The one thing that must be remembered is that the Joint Chiefs no doubt only made whatever recommendation they were told to make by their nation-wrecking superiors. Not content with their pensions and book deals, these generals and admirals have sold out the organizations that made their careers possible in order to get commentator jobs thrown at them by CNN. The concept of civilian control of the military, albeit a necessary one, has been taken to the grossest of extremes by this administration more than once.......

This would be a disaster, in all respects.
Not only would it basically double the responsibility for the men on the combat zone, it would also weaken the army as many women would get pregnant than fight in a war zone.
Women have been dying to get into combat, now they can.
I wouldn’t allow my child to join the military these days, and I come from a long line of servicemen.
Good way to ruin the military. It will take more than one generation for the country to recover from the Obama clown parade. If it recovers.
WRONG
WRONG
VERY WRONG
SO VERY WRONG
DISTURBING
DEGENERATE
Happy hunger games. May the odds be ever in your favor.
Only an utter lack of civilian job opportunities can now justify voluntarily enlisting.
I say this is a good thing, we should re-instate the draft too....
We should replace all men in Afghanistan with liberal women drafted from all the liberal arts colleges....
Actually that would be awesome!!!!
I think the Taliban would kill them all or they would run to the hills and never return after hearing their shrill voices...
The good thing about this is that it is gonna piss of a LOT of soldiers and when the orders come down to attack American citizens, they may very well say “Enough is Enough” and desert entire units to the Constitutional cause.
Lyin’s Pendejo sure is into that “overwhelm the system” stuff.
Women would be far more useful in the Tea Party State Militias instead. They can if the situation arises take up arms, and I would fully support them.
My local Fox affiliate did about 10 minutes on the topic, interviewing someone who is totally in favor. No alternative opinions allowed, of course.
They should have to pass the same APFT standards as their male coutnerparts then. I can understand how females can get away with lower physical fitness standards in the support MOSs and I have no problem with that but if they’re signing up for a purely infantry role, they need to be held to the same fitness standards as the men they serve with. If they aren’t, there will be major problems. Glad my 8 years are done and over with.
Wouldn’t be happening if a couple of these four stars in the Joint Chiefs resigned in protest, but they’re too interested in enjoying their jobs than protecting the nation.
If she were still alive. . . Helen Gurley Brown must be happier than a pig in s#@!

Dream on! As fast as they got it, they’ll start to whine for privileges to make others die instead.
Women on the front lines? I guess it would give the mussies something other to rape than sheep and goats...
I have little problem with this, but they should be very careful what they ask for. You say your career opportunities are limited by not being in the combat arms? How will your career fare if you try and fail? Which you likely will if fair standards are applied across the board. Oh, a few freaks will make it and have their media moments. But the majority of women will not be able to match the average man for sheer strength and stamina. And consider what you will be giving up to do this.
