Pardon the vanity, but here goes. Has anybody received their W2 forms yet? The reason I ask is because, starting this year, many employers have to report how much they contributed to our health insurance premiums. This is a provision of Obama(mis)care.

Employers over a certain threshold number of employees need to start reporting this number, but it's only "informational" this year. In years to come, some of that number will be considered taxable income if it's over a certain amount, because it's considered "Cadillac Insurance." This is a tax "only on the rich." You know, like the rest of Obamacare only taxes "The Rich" (do I have to /sarc?).
I think this will be interesting to watch as the month of January unfolds and these forms start hitting the mailboxes...especially the low information voters' boxes. I think we may be in for some interesting fireworks as the DUmmies and KOmmies et al start finding out they have a "new" income stream, and Obama wants some of it. Look how well they handled finding out the Payroll Tax holiday ended....
I'm popping some corn, because the forms will all be sent by the end of the month.

Tax question. If I claim forty million food stamp recipients as dependents on my income tax form will the IRS require me to list them by name?
I know what the data are on the W-2, however, I don’t really care about when it comes because I’m going to owe them money and I am going to wait until the very last minute to pay. Additionally, I’m thinking of cheating this year, too, so I want to wait until they are inundated with returns to send it in.
Yes. All dependents must be listed by name and with the SSN.
I’ve been notified that my W-2 will arrive no later than 24 Jan.
You’ll have plenty of time on your hands to list them. In prison.
I am not a CPA, nor do I play one on TV, but I imagine you could claim them if they don’t file and if you have all the SS numbers...
This year there will be a box on the W2 reporting the amount that the employer paid for the employee’s health insurance. That is the first shoe to drop. The second shoe will drop when we have to pay income tax on that amount. Why else would the IRS create the new reporting requirement? It is phase two of the idiot tax. All across America idiots (former useful idiots who voted for 0bama) will be saying “But I thought the tax increases were only for the rich people.”
If anybody can stand to go over to the Democrat DUMP and check it out. That place is a toilet hole that proves the adage “So many “F” bombs, so little time!”

That’s the only thing that almost makes obamacare tolerable. The lefties (with jobs) who voted for obama will be paying higher taxes.

I can’t say with certainty BUT I believe an SSN is required. If I were in charge (I wish) an SSN would be required for a person to receive anything from the taxpayers. I didn’t say from the government because the government has nothing except what they take from the taxpayers.
They may be exempt from the tax, but they’re not exempt from the reporting requirement for the W2. They will see the number and wonder how the new box applies to them, and will go cry to their buddies at DU, Kos and HuffPuffPost.
My purpose in posing the question here is to see what FReepers think is going to happen when the fools who thought only the rich were going to nailed start to see the handwriting on the wall. Let’s have us some predictions...We know they were entertaining when the Payroll Tax holiday ended.

They are questioning how many dependents I claimed.
I guess it was because of my response to the question: “List all dependents?”
I replied: 12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads;
42 million unemployed people on food stamps, 2 million people in over 243 prisons;
Half of Mexico; and 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate.”
Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.
