DES MOINES, Iowa For 50 years, the left-leaning columnist Donald Kaul has raged against guns, but after the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, he says, its time for anger, killing gun owners and dragging legislators who disagree with gun control behind pickup trucks until they get the message.
The Pulitzer Prize-nominated columnist penned an alarming screed published in the Des Moines Register in which he further suggested the Second Amendment be repealed and the National Rifle Association be declared a terrorist organization.
During my 50-year career, Kaul wrote, every time some demented soul would take a semiautomatic gun and clean out a post office, a school or a picnic, Id get up on my soap box and let loose with a withering diatribe about guns, the National Rifle Association and weak-kneed politicians. Did it about 75 times, give or take.
Yet each time, he lamented, the only result was a spike in gun sales.
Thats obscene, he opined. Here, then, is my madder-than-hell-and-Im-not-going-to-take-it-anymore program for ending gun violence in America.
His first step: Repeal the Second Amendment, the part about guns anyway. Its badly written, confusing and more trouble than its worth. Surely the Founders couldnt have envisioned weapons like those used in the Newtown shooting when they guaranteed gun rights. Owning a gun should be a privilege, not a right.
Second: Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal.
Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that prying the guns from their cold, dead hands thing works for me.(continued)

who let this idiocy get snuck out of the lunatic asylum? (Don’t they watch what goes in and out?)
All righty, then.
So he wants to drag legislators beind pick-up trucks?Black ones too?Or just whites.
He can have mine, 235 grains at a time.
There was a Time not too long ago where this would be considered TREASON, calling for the Abolition of the US Constitution was and is TREASONOUS. Furthermore it sounds to me like this writer is making “Criminal Terrorist Threats” a FELONY in EVERY STATE. Why has he not been arrested yet???
The last few seconds are priceless!
So, is he volunteering to be the one knocking on doors and doing the “prying”?
Why doesn’t he go ahead and try.
What did King Leonidas say? “Come and get them” or words which could be translated that way.
I suspect there are quite a few who hope he and his kind do try and take them.
Yet each time, he lamented, the only result was a spike in gun sales.
drew, thank you for affirming the old adage about the consequences of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.... ;-)
Kaul is a Liberal Twit!
what a tough guy. I’m sure he plans on being right there on the front lines, kicking down doors.
Takes at least two for a gun fight and this person of interest has been
watching to many movies. After the fifth gun battle before 10am
with multiple deaths on both sides the police would reconsider their efforts.
Thank you for posting his address and phone number. Now he needs a visit.
If these scum repeal the Second Amendment, they will then just take whatever they want. Their goal is a Zimbabwe-like criminal state.

Yes, with his microphone, notebook, phone camera, station camera and camera man.
Oh yes, 3 Blackwater Security Guards.
That is enough of that, Mr. Journalist. Look, both the First and Second Amendments are pretty plain on the corresponding freedom. There aren’t any “except for” clauses. That said, there sure are plenty of restrictions considered permissible under the Second Amendment. Well, what’s good for the goose and all that. I accuse Kahl of journalistic brandishing. There should be punishment for that. There would be if it was done with a sword. Why exempt the pen? Let’s start enacting laws under the First Amendment corresponding to those under the Second and see how it goes. Oh, how they will howl. The aim (NPI), of course, is to have it all thrown out, not to restrict Freedom of Speech.
