Prostate can deaths projected to increase. Restrictions on care and older population forming a perfect storm.

I've got 16 radiation treatments left, out of 40. My doctor says prognosis very good and probability of recurrence before I die of other causes is low.
My treatment bill is $70,000. Billed to me $9. Medicare and Blue Shield for supplement. May be getting in under the wire.
Welome other analysis and personal experiences.
Ping away.
canCER deaths, sorry
I think this is my first post, so fire away on technical comments. Also, I know....................spell check.
nobamacare = stay healthy or die
I wish there were a way to opt out so that you wouldn’t have to pay for my care and vice-versa.
I think that OBCare will reduce my benefits, not sure to what extent. One thing they could say is 1 series of prostate radiation or nothing over age 75. Some type of restrictions coming.
My dad had prostate cancer at age 88 and took just the hormone shots which supposedly retard the growth.
He died at 91 of other causes.
a lot of articles at this web site. First time I have been there.
Good luck with your treatments.
My dad survived it (along with a LOT of other things). He was finally taken by old age...
I have no problem with your private insurance, it is only the government portion that concerns me. What is my liability? How much do I owe you exactly?
Thanx. Going well.
I’m at Scripps La Jolla (San Diego). New building and equipment. What used to be 35 minutes is now 5.
Sounds like my dad.
Best wishes!
I’m not sure. But when I paid in, I was 25%. So yeah I was at the trough. Now it’s medicare and the blue shield I still pay about 25%.
So I’m benefitting about 75% on the payments. The cost: I wrestled 19 year old weightlifters and had the heart attack, was in the middle of a few riots. Add that to my part of the payments, but I’m sure I’m still ahead.
And yes, I was not forced to take the job. And many wouldn’t.
My treatment bill is $70,000. Billed to me $9. Medicare and Blue Shield for supplement.
Great news and prayers for your full recovery.
I’m not sure either. I thought slavery was abolished, yet I am forced to work for others.
On a separate note, are you morphing toward or away from libertarianism?
thanx
It might cost $70,000 to treat prostate cancer, but it has got to be a lot less to do a screening.
If cancer is found and the person is covered, then I imagine they would have the treatment covered.
How can someone calling himself a libertarian (morphing or otherwise) try to make a case for Medicare? Medicare is a ponzi scheme just like Social Security.
Drink more water.
Good question. My husband and I pay for our own insurance, $20,000 deductible each. I would love to get a medical bill for only $9.
I’m 66 shall I change my view now and disavow what I worked 30 years for and the benefit afforded me after a heart attack. Easy to talk now. I have what I have.
I took a job that many people didn’t want. The place was a hellhole when I hired in. I was much younger and toughed it out.
They could have dropped the bennies and let the inmates loose.
Yes, I am for and have been for private prisons. Not my fault Cal is controlled by public unions.
On it. Get very tired most days.
Wasn’t making the case for medicare. Shall we cancel it and let the seniors sink or swim?
