About eight years ago, I wrote a book called “What if George Bush were a Black Man?” The book was designed to analyze the vast impact that skin color has on our outcomes in a historically racist society. The summarized conclusion of the project was that disparities in the educational, economic and criminal justice systems give black men a much smaller margin of error than the one they would receive if they were white. A white kid in college caught using dope in a frat house gets a slap on the wrist. A black kid in the projects doing the same thing might lose his entire future.
Right around the time I finished the book, a legendary radio show host out of Milwaukee by the name of Keith Murphy asked, “Have you heard of this guy named Barack Obama?” My first response was “Who is he?” and my second question was “How do you say his name again?”
Murphy explained that Obama was a senator from Illinois that “everyone is excited about.” I did my research, and later on CNN, noted that Hillary Clinton may end up getting competition from the guy who was so sharp and charismatic.
Years later, after reflecting on how dumb it was for me to pour my soul into the first book about George Bush, I asked myself the corollary question: “What if Barack Obama were a white man?”
I started off by asking the readers on my Facebook page, a group of highly-intelligent black people who give me perspectives from across the board. Then, I looked in the mirror and asked myself the same question...

My bet is he’d be a hack left-wing academic, like Bill Ayers or Bernardine Dohrn, although at a less prestigious institution of higher learning than the U of Illinois or Northwestern.

Interesting how it seems the only reference to living in "obscurity" revolves around the mention of teaching. As much as I agree with the great majority of Conservatives' viewpoints on this site, I cannot agree on the point made above. What about an obscure electrician? Mechanic? Carpenter? Oh, that's right...I almost forgot...if one does not produce something material or provide some service that is considered "productive" to society, then he or she must be a worthless teacher who provides nothing of benefit to society. Ahh, gotcha'.
And here I thought all along that teachers/professors DO "produce" something for society...silly me! Guess I should get a job at McDonald's so I can be "productive" to society, huh? *spits*
The reason race seems central to presidency of Obama is because liberal racists - especially black ones - have made his race central to his presidency. They have failed to carry on the torch of leadership, freedom and wealth. One could say Black liberals succeeded in not “acting white” with the presidency.
It shows that the limo liberals and their socially engineered diversity tribes are not ready for equality and meaning beyond race even at the time they are rising to majority status. It does not bode well for the future. They will fail to carry this country forward as skin obsessed, backward looking victim-entitled tribalists who reject American independence, wealth and freedom as “white racist.”
And minorities steeped in liberalism will be the majority and if leftist race resentment and jealousy is their vision, they will wallow in the ruins of poverty and oppression they inherit. The illusion of Black victimhood only works when whites are there to fulfill Al Sharpton’s “demandments” and take care of things. Like Detroit shows, eventually things tip. Clinton and Rubin tipped the real estate market - the basis of middle class wealth - in service to liberal race illusions and obsessions. If minorities don’t get a clue, the whole country will be liberalism’s Detroit.
It’s really dumb to reject constitutional freedom’s ideology, wealth and culture in the name of it’s opposite - third world socialism and tribalism. Dumber to name the third world “black liberation” vision of people like Rev. Wright and Luis Farrahakan free and name America’s ideology of freedom and independence, oppression.
Whitey won’t be able to pull the welfare train anymore and if liberals have their way the White man’s ideology and culture of constitutional freedom and wealth creation will go with him. Americans in the future will not have a clue of what happened. Cultural cleansing works that way.
Limo liberals - globalists - will enslave the whole globe in the name of tribal central planning, free stuff and “safety” if minority Americans don’t wake up and grasp that freedom and independence from the dead white guys whom they have been taught to disrespect and hate.
Independence is not a racist’s smash mouth sassy thug like Rev. Wright telling whitey a thing or two about obamafones and EBT cards. Let’s just say that if the vision of America’s minorities doesn’t get out of liberalism’s victim race box, the future is going to be small as easy pickings for the bad guys around the globe. Will rap’s black girls will look pretty with their big butts in a burka?
It’s politically incorrect to say, but America’s “white” freedom and ideals is what every group in America struggled for themselves before globalists came along with this latest plan of humanism for the enslavement of the West. We call it liberalism but the people of the future will not know enough to understand what hit them.

But it's hard to say. If he weren't half-black, he wouldn't have been interested in the things he was interested in.
Since when should anyone’s skin color matter? It only matters when black is not just a color.
Recall that he who controls the meaning of words controls the outcome of the discussion.
In the context of Critical Race Theory, just what, exactly, is meant by “race” and thus “racism”, “racist” and even “black”? We have a prominent case of “race” in that BHO told us in his own autobiography that in his youth he struggled with his racial identity and finally chose to be ‘black”. However, he also tells us that his mother was Caucasian and his father was from Kenya but listed as part Arab. In 1988, none other than Bill Clinton was called our “first black president” by Nobel poet Tony Morrison.
If a Caucasian man can be “black”, and a person with a Caucasian mother can decide to be black despite the fact his biological father may be more Arab than black or something else, then what, exactly is meant by “black”?
When Bill Maher, during a panel discussion on HBO complains that Obama’s policies are “half-assed” “because he’s only half black.” and that “if he was fully black, I’m telling you, he would be a better president.”, and that “there’s a white man in him holding him back”, than what is “black”? For that matter, then what is “white”?
CNN’s Soledad O’Brien writes of a private meeting in 2007 with Jesse Jackson in her book, “The Next Big Story.” During the meeting, Jackson complained to O’Brien, whose mother is a black woman from Cuba, that there weren’t any black anchors on CNN. She wrote, “He looks me in the eye and reaches his fingers over to tap a spot of skin on my right hand. He shakes his head. “You don’t count,” he says.” She closed the section with “[t]he arbiter of blackness had weighed in. I had been measured and found wanting.”
Finally, Dr. Cornel West, whose official web site describes him as “a prominent and provocative democratic intellectual”, was the subject of an article in the May 18, 2011 Washington Post. Reporter Krissah Thompson opened with, “Scholar Cornel West’s scathing critique of President Obama’s liberal bona fides in a series of recent interviews has ignited a furious debate among African American bloggers and commentators.”
These are all facts that anyone can verify on Google in 0.8 seconds.
References to race, racism and especially to “black”, in all these contexts, is clearly not about “race”. It is about ideology, socialist ideology. The problem is not how black all these people may be, but how RED. With that in mind, to a person who equates “black” with socialist, then “racism” and “racist” is only about people who reject socialism and socialists.
Got to keep that race card playing!

What I meant was relative obscurity. Instead of being the most recognizable and powerful man on Earth.
I believe affirmative action has taken him way beyond his ability.
There is nothing wrong with living in obscurity. Most of us wouldn't have it any other way.

If obama were white, he would have griped about how the whites have been disciminated against, how they need affirmative actions, how the blacks need to hand over their money to be redistributed to the unfortunate whites.....

He'd still stink up the place as an administrator! He is totally bound by yesterday's grievances to the point that he is incapable of moving ahead with anything positive. I hate what he is doing to our country and I find him pitiful as he will never find satisfaction in anything he does.
But he is. Just as much as he is Black.
If he was a white man, with this record, he would never have been re-elected.
He never would have been accepted into Harvard.
