Praise the Lord there is someone out there in America land that agrees with me on this issue. It is frustrating to see so many who want taxes to increase though cannot understand it’s Obama’s further attempts to punish the success of individuals hard work (by their own labors). Krystol is showing himself; those moderate colors. Unbelievable, to portray himself as a conservative; while giggly, no doubt, to give the liberal view to all of us as a solid principle. Could others from the audience please step up and call him out. No wonder part of our base stayed home. They are sick of dealing with these kind of people. We need new people speaking for us.

Good for you, Mark Levin.

I get a daily newsletter from both the Weekly Standard and Commentary Magazine.

Like me, almost all their writers support a strong military and an assertive foreign policy when US interests and allies are endangered.

But our shared values seem to end there.

On the issues of free enterprise capitalism, on religion, on crime, on culture, on immigration, and on limited government, they are always on the attack against Conservatives, and they are always searching for a way to compromise with the Democrat Party.

I once argued, unknowingly, with "The Great One" here on FR some years ago. My only claim to fame aside from being on the Paul Shannon Show as a Cub Scout.

Mark is the greatest defender of Liberty in the public realm today. I will stand with him any day.

Who is this Kristol person you speak of? Was it the cobbler's son who was fired because he wasn't fit to shine Mark Levin's shoes?

And, Oh yeah, almost forgot. "Making the wealthy pay their fair share" will not increase revenue to the gubmint, it's just a slide to increase taxes on the middle class 'cause that's where the real money's at.

Then again "It's not just about money, it's about fairness".

Making the rich “pay their fair share” to the government will not increase the “revenue” to the government. Anyone who believes that is a moron. When the rich have more money taken that used for wealth creation, there is less wealth created. For the moron who needs a further explanation, that wealth is what generates “revenue” for the government.

Giving in to Obama on the “tax the wealthy” scam openly agrees with the huge lie that the rich are not paying their fair share. Ben Stein is another pseudo-conservative who espouses this idiocy. The fact is forcing the wealthy to pay more in taxes than they currently do won’t drop the deficit a whit. It’s like trying to bail out Lake Superior with a thimble.

I grow weary from all the talk of “raising taxes”. I don’t want any more tax increases or “new taxes” until spending is cut significantly. Time for the pols to face the facts, the can has been kicked too far and too long. Government is just theater of the absurd.

I agree with Kristol but for different reasons.

This "tax the rich - make them pay their fair share" mantra is obamski's war cry. It speaks directly to the mis-guided emotions of the idiots in this country and gives them a villian to hate while diverting blame from where it belongs. It has been obscenely effective.

The left is counting on the GOP digging in its heels on this and will use it as a broom to sweep the House in 2014...thereby giving obamski both houses and full rein to pass utterly destructive laws in his final half term. The damage a leftist potus, senate and house could and would do would be life-threatening.

Increasing taxes on those with income over $250K (yes, I am in that group) would do virtually nothing to fix the economy and would likely make the jobs situation worse.

But, it would neuter the war cry and take that arrow out of their quiver for 2014.

And, the truth is that unless they strip away a boatload of deductions guys like me will still use the laws to pay little or no tax.

First, Bill Kristol can’t raise anyone’s tax rate. He’s TALKING, not doing. We understand that raising the tax rates on the wealthy is not a good idea. We also just lost an election. As a matter of fact, there will be more Democrat Senators in a couple of months. They can raise the tax rate. It could be that Kristol is a communist, but I don’t think so. I think he’s looking at this strategically. If we keep losing elections to the Democrats, it won’t matter what any Republican thinks about tax rates. The Democrats will force their ideas through based on winning elections. I think Kristol is trying to use Judo on the Democrats. Use your opponent’s attack against him. Pelosi has been out three times this past week yammering about raising taxes on the rich. Take her attack and don’t match your energy against hers. Direct her energy to the ground. She wants us to raise a big fuss over this and then she turns to the media and the Democrat voters and says, “See! The Republicans only care about the rich!” We lose big in the 2014 elections and the tax rates go up because they controlled the argument.

The Libs really, really want this - it's a pecker measuring contest. So offer it to them, tied to a measure that reduces the Federal Budget by 20% per year over the next 4 years and removes the 'Baseline' thing. Just put the whole deal out there and see what they do. Surely everyone, including Libs wants to reduce the Budget (aka the deficit production engine.)

When I heard Kristol make that statement on Fox, my mouth dropped open. The guy oozes sleaze and is clueless besides. What does a GOP-e know about the Tea Pary, anyhow? How dare he presume what we would, or would not, care about?
