Citizens in 15 states file petitions to secede from United States

As a result of Tuesday's election, Americans in 15 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States, Regina Conley reported at Red Alert Politics on Saturday.

So far, she says, residents in Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey and ten other states, have filed petitions at the White House petition site requesting secession. A petition for New York to secede was file by "C R" of Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday.

Examiner's Sheila Carroll says those other states include Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

On November 7, the day after the election, "Michael E" from Slidell, Louisiana, filed a petition at the White House "We the People" site, requesting that Louisiana be allowed to secede...

The people signing the petitions to secede from the United States should instead surrender their U.S. citizenship and leave our states to be defended by Patriots who don’t cut and run.

This country was founded by people who cut and ran from their former homelands.

First, the inciement to secede is treasonous.

Tell that to Thomas Jefferson.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another...

What constitutional means?
There is no more constitution !! -
1. a usurper is occupying the office of the president illegally
2. a constitutionally ineligible person is allowed to be the presidential contender a second time, AND, steal the election a second time
3. unconstitutional obamacare is validated by the Supreme Court who no longer rules strictly according to the constitution
4. Current Taxation (of the individuals) is NOT constitutional - tax is supposed to be apportioned to the states, not to individuals
5. all entitlement programs (medicare, medicaid, social security etc.) are unconstitutional - the fed gov’s role is limited, and it has no constitutional right to redistribute fruits of our labor....

We can all keep burying our heads in the sand and be law-abiding to eternity. The soetoro and gang will simply laugh their a**** off.

The GOP forever plays ‘nice’, so nice that they, without a beep, let them steal the elections with unbelievable voter fraud.

The Republicans congress is forever so nice that they forever compromise with the dems at the expense of their own principles (whatever that is left)

All 3 branches of gov are not upholding the constitution.
When they who represent We the people throw the Constitution out the window, what constitutional measures can we take?

Perhaps secession is not the way. We don’t know yet. But what is?
Don’t you think -
States must reclaim their rights, by nullification or other means, even secession, which, by the way, is a constitutional means.
Indidviduals can support their states.

In a war, can we just play by the rules when the enemies have no rule whatsoever? (Example, look at soetoro’s ‘rules of engagement’ - our soldiers obey the rules while the enemies laugh as they kill them )

We are literally at war! We will forever lose if we don’t level the playing field!
If we want to win we have to draw the lines -

The Constitution won’t be worth toilet paper once Obama appoints 4 or 5 out of 9 justices on the Supreme Court. It’s barely worth that now.

Yep, Mississippi too! I have to admit I was a bit disappointed when we weren’t among the first few States to make the statement, but I have lived here for 26 years and had no doubt we would join the movement.

That is incorrect. There is nowhere in the Constitution whereby a State can leave the Union.

In fact, many would say that the Supreme Court decision in Texas vs. White made it clear: “In accepting original jurisdiction, the court ruled that Texas had remained a state ever since it first joined the Union, despite its joining the Confederate States of America and its being under military rule at the time of the decision in the case. In deciding the merits of the bond issue, the court further held that the Constitution did not permit states to unilaterally secede from the United States, and that the ordinances of secession, and all the acts of the legislatures within seceding states intended to give effect to such ordinances, were “absolutely null”.”

Actually, it would be independent states, not united ones. Think "pre confederacy" and not the 1860's one. Immediately after the american revolution was successfully prosecuted, there was no united states. The states bound together in a confederacy.

A collapse of the federal government does not mean the collapse of 50 states.

The federal government has worked itself into an unsustainable position. It will fail.

If all the states seceded - then the productive states may choose to re-affiliate. I seriously doubt that States like California, NY, and Mass would be allowed into the any group containing Texas, LA, Miss, Alabama, and Georgia. And given the nature of the “gun control” laws in these states, California and Mass would be too chicken to join in anyway (not to mention the likely “no free handouts” policy).

Don’t be absurd. Renouncing our citizenship would be like saying, “If we can’t win every election, then we will just take our ball an go home.” How is that going to gain conservatism any support? I believe we can re-take the government through elections in 2016. THAT is the way to win, not stomping angrily away from the country we say we love, acting like sore losers. Let’s just get back into the fight until we win.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.
That definition presupposes a united states in the first place, and an attempt to takeover ALL of them.

But, even if secession was treason, so what? The point is that those signing secession petitions view the federal government "dimly." If objection to the federal government is treason, well, then treason it is. Let the government wage war against its own people then.

In reality you are a citizen of a state. The whole US citizenship thing is an artificial construct.

When the duly elected legislatures in those states pass resolutions stating their intentions to secede, then get back to me. Otherwise this is just political stage drama, empty sound and fury. Understandable perhaps, but largely meaningless.
