Here is how the document reads-
The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.
Maybe so, but for a change, let's let our 'extremists' rant like the Left does instead of hurrying to smack them down.
Anything which pulls the "center" back to the right a little is fine by me.
Do you think the ghetto slugs and arab ragheads in the White House know or care anything about English grammar?
It has only been up since yesterday, Jeff. Don’t you suppose people will have to find it before they can sign it, sheesh.
I encourage you to also read this earlier post http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2957815/posts?q=1&;page=1#1 on FR cause there are some mighty well written comments on it.

So speaks wideawake from New Jersey.
The kiddies in the coastal cesspool “gimme” constituency that keeps electing these Democrat Santas and subjecting the rest of us red states to their slouch to Gomorrah need the resources of the “producer” states to keep their lifestyles afloat. That’s why Obama needs the military and his own civilian military brownshirts to keep us redneck bitter clingers in line.
LOL, someone should write a song about that. Oh, maybe some one already did.
Some Texans. Until it comes from the TX Legislature, it’s nothing.
Here in Michigan we could make a go of it, we do have a lot of, ahem, people of color. If we could get those folks to move to , say, Chicago, we could make it work!!!
Question! Are people citizens of the USA primary to being citizens of the different states.?? If so it seems the Federal government has big ax in this dispute.
Don’t worry, we’ll put you in a safe place in charge of the latrines.
Well, of course. But that’s why you would have to secede.
Texas reserved the right to split into five separate states when it joined the union.
I do not think there was any stipulation about seceding.
This is just a bunch of ungrammatical attention grabbers trying to grab some attention.
“This is just a bunch of ungrammatical attention grabbers trying to grab some attention.”
Huh? Yeah, I guess attention grabbers would try to grab attention.
But, I prefer to view them as patriots frustrated to the breaking point about the losing their individual liberty.
I can certainly see a lot more people in Texas signing it.
I doubt there’s going to be any serious movement for Texas to secede, though.
In Texas v. White (1869), the Supreme Court held that a state has no right to leave the union. But the issue was settled in practical terms at Appomatox.
The lines for entry into their Republic are liable to be quite large.
Their immigration rules should be extremely difficult to work through also.
A nice secession would be
Nebraska
Montana
Wyoming
Both Dakotas
Idaho
Utah
Colorado
Then the join up with Manitoba Alberta Saskatchewan
Such a nation or confederation would be an agricultural and energy superpower. It could be free of the Federal and financial parasites in DC and NYC and Toronto
