Why Hispanics Dont Vote for Republicans By Heather Mac Donald November 7, 2012
The call for Republicans to discard their opposition to immigration amnesty will grow deafening in the wake of President Obamas victory. Hispanics supported Obama by a margin of nearly 75 percent to 25 percent, and may have provided important margins in some swing states. If only Republicans relented on their Neanderthal views regarding the immigration rule of law, the message will run, they would release the inner Republican waiting to emerge in the Hispanic population.
If Republicans want to change their stance on immigration, they should do so on the merits, not out of a belief that only immigration policy stands between them and a Republican Hispanic majority. It is not immigration policy that creates the strong bond between Hispanics and the Democratic party, but the core Democratic principles of a more generous safety net, strong government intervention in the economy, and progressive taxation. Hispanics will prove to be even more decisive in the victory of Governor Jerry Browns Proposition 30, which raised upper-income taxes and the sales tax, than in the Obama election.
And California is the wave of the future. A March 2011 poll by Moore Information found that Republican economic policies were a stronger turn-off for Hispanic voters in California than Republican positions on illegal immigration. Twenty-nine percent of Hispanic voters were suspicious of the Republican party on class-warfare grounds it favors only the rich; Republicans are selfish and out for themselves; Republicans dont represent the average person compared with 7 percent who objected to Republican immigration stances.
I spoke last year with John Echeveste, founder of the oldest Latino marketing firm in southern California, about Hispanic politics. What Republicans mean by family values and what Hispanics mean are two completely ....

Wake up!
The war for America is over and we lost. We will NEVER regain the constitutional republic that was once this great nation by voting in our banana republic like elections.
It's time for Americans to consider other options.
Their statements on the Trayvon Martin case shows the Republican Party doesn’t want more hispanic votes. They want amnesty.
When they stand up for an hispanic defending himself against a negro instead of condemning him they’ll get more hispanic votes.
I probably should have used “Hispanic” but the point is the same
Hispanics want to suckle at the same teet as their darker American friends. the only thing we can hope for is that they fight over the same nipple, but those who pay taxes will be bled dry before that.
The problem is that rural Latinos (and those of European descent) are more likely to be hard-working, self-reliant individualists, and urban people ... aren't.
Another commentator pointed out that Rubio is another pipe dream. His family are of Iberian descent, thus not one of them. He is considered by the vast majority of Hispanics as white as Mitt Romney.
Well Exactly:
There is no way we can buy Hispanic votes, Black votes, Homo votes, and baby killer votes and still be a Republican party.
If the Republicans start buying those votes——and I think the RINO’s will try, they will lose the votes they have.
Lets face it Americans have learned to give themselves money and America is going down the drain.
If this political civil war exists, which probably is the case, then I believe all is lost because the urban populations are growing faster than the rural ones. The result will be similar to Canada and Europe where urban populations just have too many numbers to be overcome by rural voters.
If that was the answer, NM-3 in the northern portion of the state would have shown the same results. Instead the vote in the four most Hispanic counties ranged between 79 and 83% for Obama. They have been on the government teat for so long up there nothing will draw them away from it. But part of the problem is of the liberals own making - the enviro-nazis in trendy Santa Fe (together with the Sierra Club, NRDC and the Wilderness Society nationally) have succeeded in shutting down all natural resource development in that area (not counting the San Juan county area). Mining and lumbering are dead and they provided good jobs for many whose families have lived there for hundreds of years.
Steve Pearce won or nearly tied in counties which voted Democratic for President - Examples Socorro Pearce won 56-42%, Obama 54-38%, Cibola Pearce lost 49-50% Obama 62-33%. He has a message that resonates - jobs and economic development and though SE NM has both he can point to that success as a beacon for what enterprise and business can accomplish when not hobbled by government redtape and bureaucracy.
The problem in a nutshell: you can’t attract Hispanic voters of Mexican background by appealing to family values when most such families have family members or friends who have been deported back to Mexico.
Now, here is the mystery: Obama has deported *more* illegals than Bush, but is perceived as more friendly to illegals than Romney.
That’s a major messaging failure by Republicans.
NM-3 is different, as you say, but that’s like saying my thesis doesn’t apply to Ann Arbor. If you know NM, then you know what a haven Sante Fe and points North are for every sort of liberal whack-job. That means Hispanics living there are likely to be dependents of various kinds, and to be encouraged in their dependency. It’s more common for that dependency class to be fostered in big cities like ABQ, but the disease isn’t exclusive to urbanity.
But there are no "White" Americans, anymore than their are African-Americans or Asian-Americans. There are only Americans, or else, there no longer is an America at all.
Sorry Sally. I will never "relent" my Neanderthal views of criminals.
I will always have Neanthethal views toward rapists, robbers, muggers, bank robbers, child molesters, the list of crimes is endless.
If you are serious, start a national movement to eliminate all our immigration laws. I dare you. Think about the hero you'll be if it succeeds.
By the way, I have been a registered Democrat all my life
worse than that
we lost the young cuban vote. Mom and dad come over from the biggest hellhole on earth and one generation later, they vote with the enemy.
We also lost the asian vote. Huge problem, i have no answers, but armed waiting for the first spark.
That is a deep self hatred and spiritual sickness there.
