The American people have given President Obama a chance to start over. He can take steps this time to govern responsibly. He can work with, not against, Republicans in Congress and governors around the nation. He can put an end to his reckless disregard for our rule of law and spare our nation another long, painful and expensive four years for American families, taxpayers and employers.
We must hold his and Congress feet to the fire to once and for all cut spending, repeal Obamacare and withdraw federal encroachment into state decision-making and personal liberties. Our nations long-term prosperity and security absolutely depends on it.
Meanwhile, states have the opportunity to pave the way for Washington by promoting common-sense policies of smaller government, lower taxes and restrained spending that create jobs and prosperity for their citizens.
I commend Mitt Romney and his entire campaign team for a disciplined, focused and hard-fought race. Anita and I wish him, Ann and his team all the best.

Yeh right.
I think 0bama might try to play nice until the 2014 elections, but after that, Katy bar the door.
kudo’s to him
Is Rick Perry trying his hand at comedy?
Obama is more likely to appoint State “Czars” to rule over red states than he ever would be to take the course of action proposed by Perry.
Agree.
Is Rick Perry trying his hand at comedy?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It sounds to me like his first opening campaign remarks for 2016.
God Bless Rick Perry. God Bless Texas. And may someday God Bless America like He used to.
If you want to call lifting your kilt to show your disdain for the enemy, comedy.
Rick Perry, along with numerous other so-called conservatives are delusional. This elction proved the majority wants freebies. We lost. It is over. Nothing else matters. Hunker down and cling to your family. They are coming for our stuff.
Wasn’t his entire campaign an extended comedy bit?
Following the debate, he was speaking with Perry and inadvertently looked down at Perry's legal pad from the debate. Santorum said Perry had jotted a note at the top of his pad and underlined it twice, reading, "PRAY FOR BELLA."
Perry may not have been my first choice, but he is an honorable man.
Thank you. I had not heard of this, though I am not surprised.
Perhaps we should show them what socialist free really is.
Nothing, upon nothing is free in a socialistic world. Socialism lives on dreams, aspirations and goals.
Duh, the dims have none of the above, they won’t miss a thing.
If we are going to lose can we at least go down swinging. somebody please just call him what he is...a communist.
Not going to happen. Remember these words from the campaign (when he thought he was going to lose): I will work across the aisle. He meant he will reach across the aisle to strangle anyone who has the temerity to oppose his edicts.
This is in Obama’s face:
“....He can take steps this time to govern responsibly. He can work with, not against, Republicans in Congress and governors around the nation. He can put an end to his reckless disregard for our rule of law and spare our nation another long, painful and expensive four years for American families, taxpayers and employers.
Perry knows that perfectly well, and this is just a polite way of calling attention to the miserable record of Obama and getting Texas ready for what's going to come.
I wanted Gingrich as the nominee but Perry was my second choice, second only because he was not verbally quick on his feet and I knew the Dems would seize on that, which they did. (Of course, Obama and Biden are walking gaffe-machines, but that doesn't seem to matter to the press, which makes all their bizarre and even evil misstatements simply disappear.)
But in my opinion, Texas is probably the only place that has a chance of resisting Obama, and Perry is its spokesman.
I have a friend who supported Perry. The friend was a Democrat until recently. He and Perry have been friends for many years. My friend is hands down one of the most brilliant people in the US. Up until late yesterday I believed that there was no way Obama could be re-elected. I texted my friend and asked him who would win. He said Obama. That really bummed me out because this person is never wrong. Never. Prayed he would be wrong but he was right on the money. The Romney loss upset me so much I did not get to sleep until 4 AM. When I got to the office this AM one of my female employees was in tears. Really torn up.
Perry is a good man. A decent man. His mistake was getting in to the game when he was not physically right. The truth is that Perry had his moment of forgetfullness not because of anything he lacks mentally but because he was on medication for his back and had little sleep. Perry would have made a great president.
I don’t think Obama’s going to play nice at all. It’s not in his nature.
Brace yourselves, everybody, because he is going to crack down hard. 2014 doesn’t matter to him because congress doesn’t matter to him. For the last nearly 3 years, he has not submitted anything of any importance to the legislature, and when he had to do so for form’s sake, at the beginning of his evil tenure of the WH, our esteemed legistlators were never even given the whole bill or allowed to read it. And their objections, if any, were like the routine, somewhat annoying but ignored sound of a mosquito on a summer night.
