Yesterday afternoon, an anonymous source known only as "Peter R." reached out to VICE with claims that he had in his possession a video of President Barack Obama's birth. Peter said that the footage was shot at a hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, on August 4, 1961, by his father, Barack Obama Sr.
He sent us the password to a private video on Vimeo, a short clip that appears to depict a while woman who resembles Ann Dunham, Obama's mother, giving birth to a ginormous black baby. Peter also told us that he has the entire roughly 15-minute video in his possession and has been attempting to reach out to Donald Trump and other prominent birther theorists.

Laughably fake.

Super-8 film was not introduced until 1965.
The person who supplied the video online said it was shot with a Super-8 camera.
This article and the claim is bogus.
There’s a difference between 8mm film and Super 8. Yes, they are both 8mm but Super 8 came out around 1965.
The Super-8 film format wasn’t introduced until 1965 and probably not commonly used until a few years later. Before that there was “regular” 8mm and 16mm for home movies.
It's a miracle Ann survived Obama's birth.
My son was 12 pounds at birth. He wasn’t even close to that big.
There is NO WAY that THAT was a newborn baby. That kid was at least 5-6 months old.
Anyone who falls for this crap is a flat-out idiot.
Oh...and Kodak did not release Super 8 until 1965. Other than that, the story is true. This post should be removed.
Heh, looks like they didn't consider that. Of course, it might have been the older 8mm, and the source doesn't know any better.
However, while this is interesting, I doubt it. When did any hospital chart have what looks like a picture from a portrait studio?
I shot Super-8 video of my kids in the mid to late 1970s. Super-8 had not been public all that long. I suspect it was made public by Kodak around 1974 give or take a couple of years.
What’s that picture behind the head of the “actress” playing Ann?
Let’s tweet it to Donald Trump!
They weren’t DOING birth videos in 1961. Usually fathers weren’t allowed anywhere near births until the 1980s. May have been different in Kenya.
I disagree. In a few short minutes, FReepers have pointed out multiple problems and challenged its validity.
Anyone reading this thread will quickly come to the same conclusion -- and won't fall for it.
Video? Or 8mm tape
1964 and the father was in the delivery room - not likely
ROFLMAO!
This obvious hoax is so bad, I thought I was watching Saturday Night Live!
The Flag pin on the doctor’s lapel is priceless!
Cheers
Exactly, and how long did they focus on it? A split second.
I don’t think they could have gotten a crisp picture from a frame from what I saw. They’d all be blurry.
And this was an 8mm frame. Those frames were not thumbnail size. They were fingernail size. Blowing one of them up to show us frames like what were provided... very very unlikely.
If that’s Obama, after being born he could have walked back home from the Hospital.
I disagree, too. It’s good for some laughs.
For example, I guess the only white part of him was his umbilical cord ;-)
Wow, Obama is so good, he was born holding his head up!
And mom’s always use their high school senior picture on their hospital records.
Jeez, this is dumb. (and obviously fake)
It says it was converted from 8mm.
