NAACP Seeks UN Investigation of US Election Laws
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 30 Sep 2012 | John Semmens

Posted on 10/01/2012 9:04:45 AM PDT by John Semmens

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) demanded that the United Nations launch an investigation into the United States “racially discriminatory election laws.” At issue is the loss of voting rights for convicted felons.

“This is unfair because minorities are disproportionately affected,” Lorraine Miller, Chairperson of the NAACP national board’s advocacy and policy committee complained. “Just because a person is a criminal doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a voice in government.”

“A democracy must reflect the views of all the people—honest and dishonest alike—if it is to be truly representative,” Miller argued. “Disenfranchising a segment of the population because it lives by a different code of ethics undermines basic democratic principles.”

While the notion that a profoundly undemocratic United Nations ought to intervene in the election procedures of one of the world’s leading democratic states might seem dubious, Miller asserted that her efforts had the support of US Attorney General Eric Holder.

In related news, a study recently completed by Northwestern University professor Aldon Morris found that “social conditions for poor and working-class Blacks have actually worsened since Obama took office. The hypothesis that merely electing a Black president would somehow automatically redound to the benefit of this racial cohort has been refuted.”

Joking aside, the UN should expand the investigation to election procedures and start with Minnesota where corrupt officials stole a senate seat from the Republicans and gave it to professional buffoon Al Franken.

If minority people are “over represented” in felony crimes, maybe they should not be engaging in felony activities?

Satire aside...

I wouldn’t put it past the democrats to want all people represented, even those who might be getting the long-death walk into the death chamber to meet their maker. Get them before they are gone... but,

As we all know, democrats will work hard to get the dead represented, because, it’s about how they would have voted if they had still been with us... and then...

I wouldn’t put it past the democrats to also extend our election rights to those in Mexico, because, at one time or another, most of them, and perhaps all of them, will be on our soil for one reason or another, so, we need to make sure that, they’re represented evenly.

Democrats: the party of equality for all...

Next: the pets and food animals will be getting their votes.

For the NAACP to “demand” anything shows total ignorance. So much for public education!

Until the UN replaces the US Congress, they better keep out.

And just what, exactly, does the National Association of Professional Race-Baiters (NAACP) feel would be the mandate of authority for the limp-dink UN to "investigate" anything in this sovereign Republic?

Where do these mumbling, babbling vegetables get these ignorant ideas? What makes them think anyone even cares what they have to say? If they had a brain they'd be dangerous, though still insignificant, ineffectual and useless.

Good question, why don’t felons have the right to vote? Is this in the Constitution?

“Joking aside, the UN should expand the investigation to election procedures.....”

.
Joking aside, the UN should butt out of the internal affairs of the USA and GTF out of this country, permanently.

But the dishonest have an entire political party to themselves since McGovern and his communists seized the Demonrat Party in 1972 and changed the rules to make their rule of that party permanent.

Additionally, I would argue that the GOP is increasingly dishonest as well. Think of all of those who claim that Myth Romney is somehow a "conservative" despite his lifelong etch-a-sketch track record, who have no problem with the GOP POTUS nomination being bought in a libelous carpetbombing media campaign of lies against every conservative candidate financed by mountains of corrupt Wall Street cash, who have no problem with the GOP's rules being permanently changed to secure the permanent reign of corrupt money over the grassroots party activists. The party rules changes were the GOP's McGovern moment only to guarantee in the GOP's case that the GOP will ever stand for the proposition that the world and our country should be ruled by those who own it. If that sounds like a good idea, remember that money is only money and that the issues that count are, at best, only tangentially about money and that the GOP-E is just ashamed of the views of the majority of Republicans and now intends to stamp out those views.

Think of spineless corrupt trash like McConnell in the Senate and Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy in the House running the utterly tame GOP caucuses and making them safe for the GOP-E agenda which (other than empty lip service and protecting GOP special economic interests and resisting taxation of those making $250,000 or more) is not really all that different from the Demonrat agenda.

There will be, as there must be, a reckoning as to how our parties and our nation are now bought and paid for and as to the gross corruption of our parties and our institutions.
