Hi, here's another question from a technologically challenged, internet addicted, freeper.
Let me begin by saying that my PC runs Windows 7 and I have Internet Explorer 9. However, a number of websites (yahoo, weather channel ...) keep showing statements about me having to update to IE9. Well, maybe it is not aimed at me, maybe they just have that announcement. But now I cannot read the comments in the Jerusalem Post and the reason, in their words, is "Sorry, the browser you are using is not currently supported. To use the comments, Disqus recommends the following browsers: Firefox,Chrome,Internet Explorer 9,Safari"
Not sure what the problem is but you might try resetting IE9 to it’s default settings.
Click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, you should find it in there.
Have you ever tried firefox? I like it a LOT better than IE. It’s a free easy download to try it. I try to keep three browsers up to date to try when things like this happen. IE, firefox, safari. (no chrome). Firefox is the main one that works best for me.
That would be www.mozilla.org.
Have you checked that IE9 updates have been made on your computer, via Windows Update?
Also, have you updated Adobe Flash player?

As one of my sons puts it, Microsoft’s marketing slogan for IE9 should be: “IE9. The fastest way to download a different browser.”
I’m running the latest Firefox (15.0.1) and the site comes up just fine (jpost).
I don’t know, but I had to install a new hard drive last week. I got caught with a bunch of stuff unsaved, passwords etc. I have been using Chrome for quite some time, and when I reinstalled Chrome on the new drive all my login data was still active. I’m ready to return to the most basic browser I can find that will work with Win 7, but is any privacy at all a thing of the past?
Has the IE virus back door been fixed yet?
LOVE Firefox! I’ve had it for years.Never looked back! :)
Good luck, I’ll be glad when I upgrade to a better computer and can use IE again, I use Chrome now because it is less demanding on my old system.
I’m running ie8 fully patched and had no prob seeing jp’s comments. Disabled java and they’re gone. Likely you’ve turned java off or need to up date it.
What version of IE9 are you running (32 bit or 64 bit)? Some sites are having difficulties with 64 bit.
Oops. I meant what version of Win 7.
Both, actually.
Oops. I meant what version of Win 7.
Move to Firefox and don’t look back. I haven’t used IEanything in years, not missing any content.
Try to turn on content filtering. It eliminates all the ads on the web pages you open.
