To Those Of You Conservatives Who Plan On Sitting Out This Election
Vanity | September 26, 2012 | Diamond6

Posted on 09/27/2012 10:28:51 AM PDT by diamond6

A conversation between my husband and a FReeper who wants to sit out the election because he doesn't like Romney:

"See, I believe that we are already past the tipping point.”

You really are naive. Nothing worse can happen, huh?

How about those hefty taxes that are planned for the “rich” (really small businesses) in January? Think that might possibly cause our economy to get even worse by increasing the jobless?

How about the $1 trillion dollar debt (conservatively estimated) for the next fiscal year’s budget and every year’s budget thereafter?

How about the disregard and attacking of the rights of all religious institutions, who will be forced to pay for something they believe is morally wrong? Do you think quite possibly Catholic hospitals and facilities might possibly go out of business?

How about the actual implementation of Obama Care, which will devalue our way of life, drive doctors out of the business, bankrupt insurance companies, and cause skyrocketing premiums?

How about the complete collapse of our economy, which will likely result in unprecented skyrocketing inflation rates and quite possibly a depression that we have never ever seen the likes of?

What about the complete disregard of any and all pro-life protections - babies, the elderly (euthanasia - they won’t be needed anymore?

How about the removal of any moral values for our country at all?

How about World War III in the Middle East, the annihiliation of Israel, and a nuclear holocaust there as well, with the fear of dirty bombs in this country?

How about the removal of all our rights - free speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms through Obama executive order fiats?

How about the replacement of our conservative judges with ultra liberal anti-Constitutionalists?

How about a Communistic-style of government that will lead us to the point of no return?

Your no vote is a vote for Communism. Congratulations on your “principled” approach. And you’re doing that to teach the party “a lesson”? There won’t be a 2016 election to turn to, after Obama gets done.

You and others like you have no genuine concern or accountability for our country at all.

just watched the video where he says that's past us. So what did he say if he didn't say homosexuals are OK in the militry.

RYAN EVEN EXPRESSED SYMpATHy For tHose who"D already exposed themselves ~ but they shouldn't have been in there in the first place.

NO, RYAN HAS turned his back on the last 4 million years of human evolution and thrown his lot in with the faggots.

MUST HAVE BEEN MOLESTED AS A we laddie eh!

-----

If you watched it, you know that what he said was THIS:

“I talked to a lot of good friends of mine who are combat leaders in the theater, and they just didn’t think the timing of this was right to do this when our troops were in the middle of harm’s way in combat,” Ryan told WPTV Saturday, when asked about the one-year anniversary of the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

“Now that it’s done, we should not reverse it. I think that would be a step in the wrong direction because people have already disclosed themselves.”

“I think this issue is past us,” he added. “It’s done. And I think we need to move on.”

-----

That is very different from saying you are OKAY with gays in the military. Especially since he voted against repealing DADT last year which the article is also clear about.

I genuinely don't understand why, if you need to lie about someone to support your argument, why wouldn't you reconsider your position?

MUST HAVE BEEN MOLESTED AS A we laddie eh!

Nevermind, anyone who would make a vile comment like that one obiously doesn't have even a passing acquaintance with morals.

If the best you have is to resort to name calling, you have already lost the debate.

I do not NOW have a business. I have HAD businesses in the past and I am in the process of starting a new business, though very early in the business planning effort. My current job is a consultant to global financial firms.

I musta hit a nerve.

You really have no idea about the free enterprise system and it's obvious. If that's name calling, so be it.

For someone so ignorant of business to call a successful business man a socialist.....what can I say, you are really over matched and I sincerely hope you aren't being paid for your advice, cause it sucks.

Okay genius (see I can be nice). How in the world can you compare a successful business creator to a community organizing Marxist radical with a straight face?

Go ahead, I'll be waiting........

Those who don't care to choose between the two liberal "frontrunners" should consider Tom Hoefling instead of staying home. And, you can't stay home when there are plenty of good conservatives who need your support in other races.

No one should stay home.

And, don't worry about the meaningless polls that are designed to dissuade you from participating. Vote for the candidate you like best. If you do that, you will have done your part.

Also, please remember that God will have a hand in these elections. God isn't discouraged by polls. He shall reveal His will very soon.

Trust God.

The problem that you face, is that you, just like the hundred of other Romney bots that I have encountered ASSUME that just because someone is successful, they are capitalist. George Soros is a very successful business man who supports socialist agendas. Where you fail in your understanding of history and economics is that it is quite possible to make money in a socialist economy.

I do not compare Romney to anyone. I state the fact and have in this whole thread that he has championed, passed and signed into law the SOCIALIST health care program called Romney care. Further, that same system served as the blue print for Obama’s SOCIALIST health care program.

Do you deny that historical fact?

Trading one socialist for another .... “our” socialist vs “their” socialist ... STILL ADVANCES SOCIALISM! And socialism destroys free enterprise. That is the lesson that history and economics teaches us. Unfortunately, it is a lesson that you have not yet learned.

Ryan: “Now that it’s done, we should not reverse it. I think that would be a step in the wrong direction because people have already disclosed themselves.”

“I think this issue is past us,” he added. “It’s done. And I think we need to move on.”

If he does not support open homosexuality in the military, and he says the issue is past us, it’s done - meaning homosexuals serving openly in the military is here to stay - and that we need to move on from the issue - then by default he is okay with open homosexuality continuing as policy in the military.

I have no clue how such pretzel logic works in people who insist he is not for something that he just emphatically stated is ‘done and we need to move on’. He is obviously OKAY with the issue remaining as policy or he would continue to oppose it.

Such a position reveals our legitimate concern that NOTHING Obama has already done is going to get repealed under Romney. Not ObamaCare, not a zillion czars, not defacto Amnesty, not buku bucks for the Muslim Brotherhood - because hey - the issues are past us, we should not reverse them, it’s time to move on.

Mark it. That will be the reality under Romney. Marxism simply gets a new master at the helm.

There’s the future - not a dime’s worth of difference. Evil remains, just under a different party banner.

So now Rooney is just like George Soros, oh wait, maybe that would be Romney......

Yep, you've convince me, it's obvious Rooney=Soros. Good grief you are dense.

You really think Romney made his money not building businesses that were bold, creative, and good in a market driven economy?

How in the world do you even have a job with this kind of judgment? Do you expect us to believe anything you post with this kind of drivel?

Personally I believe in the original Constitutional requirement that only land-owners/taxpayers should have the right to vote... but it’s changed, the issue is past us. The doesn’t mean I’m “okay” with it.

I can’t believe I have to explain this to an adult, but there is a difference between supporting something personally and being resigned to something that you disagree with but can’t change.

Please stop lying about Ryan’s position.

Your example is absurd. That would be the same as if because the Commandments are now forbidden to be displayed by court order, Christians should suddenly accept it and “move on” from the issue.

That’s crap.

Or how about - we opposed Obama in 2008 - but he’s president now - the issues we had with him are past us, so we should just ‘move on’?

Aren’t you the one who just admonished that those who refuse to stand against evil, permit it?

Permit it. Another way of saying ‘okay’ with it? You’re going to let it be. Let it go?

If I “move on” from the issue - then by default - I’m okay with it.

The Romney people are continuously insisting that if we refuse to vote for Romney, we are in fact - they say - by default, casting a vote for Obama.

Fine.

Let’s apply the same standards therefore.

If Ryan won’t stand up and oppose open Homosexuality in the military - if he says the issue is past us and we need to move on from the issue - then by default, he is for it.

No lying as you assert, just astute observation.

And, as I said - I warn that Romney and Ryan will say and do the same thing about everything else, including ObamaCare that people hope in vain he will work to repeal.

“It’s done, the issue is past us - it’s time to move on”.

Same as being okay with it.

“Not a single person who holds your position that I simply must abandon my principles and vote for Romney has ONCE EVER SAID that Romney was not a socialist or has even made the attempt to refute that claim. I find that very telling.”

This is such an unbelievably ridiculous statement, it is not even worth responding to.

Agreed, but it was fun allowing him to show his idiocy.......did you know that Romney is just like Soros? LOL! Sometimes I think these ABR's had aliens suck their brains out.

RE :”good to see a bit of civilized discussion today...its pretty simple really, i wont hold my nose again, as i dont believe its a productive exercise, and more importantly, by voting *for* RR, i believe that it is an endorsement of too many wrong principles

Look gilb, we not asking you to vote FOR Romney. We are asking you to vote against Obama by hitting the Romney button. Forget Romney, think of Obama smiling explaining how his re-election is proof that his policies worked, GRRRR. Doesn't that make you hopping mad?

So the survival of the country AND human race (except the radical Muslims who Obama will take care of) is in your hands and will be decided by YOUR single vote.

We don't have time for principles now. With Obama we are all dead in four years by the death panels. At least with Romney-care we have a shot at survival, as long as we don't get sick and we don't answer the door when they ring the doorbell.

So how about it? Will you take one for the *team* ??

(pssst, how’d I do ??)

But you can’t get around the fact that the most common reason for conservatives not to vote for Romney is pride...Ironic how the kind of pride which most seeks to avoid looking foolish is also the kind born of foolishness itself.

wow, even thats a backhanded insult...it couldnt possibly be that mittens policies are so backwards...???

noooooooo it must be selfish pride...

endorse RR policies if you must, but please stop trying to guilt-trip and fearmonger us into supporting your version of a political messiah...

Destruction of this country will come by those who vote for Obama. If you are not with Romney bambam, you are against him.

see how weak that argument is...??? so if we are NOT for either bambam or mittens, does that mean we *for* both of em, or are actually *for* someone with at least some Constitutional ideals, and/or a King with a LOT more authority ???

Nice try but it won’t work. Ryan never said he is okay with it and you are still lying by claiming he is.

I’ll say goodnight but want to leave you with a last thought...

This video are the gays protesting against Romney being a “BIGOT” in 2006 for his trying to get a Defense of Marriage amendment on the ballot so that the public could overturn the Mass Supreme Court’s legalizing gay marriage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaLsE-y1TQE

I’m voting for the guy that this gay freak show is calliing a bigot.

You are campaigning to defeat him along with this gay freak show.

Don’t drop the soap :-)

I know exactly which characters you are talking about too. They repeat the same script on every subject. You would think they would get bored over the years, but I think they enjoy a specific reaction.

Nice try but it won’t work. Ryan never said he is okay with it and you are still lying by claiming he is.

Again - TAKE IT UP WITH CNS NEWS. I just so happen to think that if someone won't stand AGAINST current homosexual policy in the military, and tells us that the issue is now past, and for us to MOVE ON - means that he will LET THE POLICY STAND - which also means HE IS OKAY WITH HOMOSEXUAL POLICY IN THE MILITARY.

How freaking dense and twisted pretzel logic are you apologists for what is blatantly right in front of our face and eyes?

Lemme guess, you want us NOT to believe our own eyes and ears, but instead judge what Ryan HIMSELF just said about Homo policy in the military based on the gay rants against him in 2006??????

I can hear it now: "I was AGAINST HOMOSEXUAL POLICY before I was FOR IT".

That's what we got now.

And I am not so much in a campaign as I am a CRUSADE to appeal to Christian Conservatives to do what is right according to biblical and Christian principle in accords with staunch Conservatism and vote only for staunch Conservatives.

The Romney insisters and insulters hacve helped push me from simply being personally opposed to Romney, to all-out activism in appealing to those of faith to stand on our principles regardless of what the herd is bleating we should do.

If the nation will be spared, it will be because of those whom have not compromised and bowed the knee to Baal and stayed true to what we are expected to be doing as Believers in Christ.

See, I'm NOT OKAY with every aspect of Romney's record as governor.

I never said Romney was the same as Soros so stop trying to put words in my mouth. I also never said how Romney made his money. Please stick to the truth and facts and stop your projecting.

My statement from the beginning was that Romney was a socialist. Not only have you failed to refute the point but you have failed even to attempt to do so. You have made no attempt to answer my questions because you know that you can not provide a measured response that would make sense. And, failing to have any logic or reason based response, you have resorted to the tactic of name calling.

Apparently, that is all you can do and since you can’t provide an adult response based on reason, facts and logic, there is really no further benefit in continuing this conversation.

Good day

You can argue that I delve in conspiracy thoeries, and that Obama is so stupid he has trouble crossing the street by himself, but that doesn't make it so.

But explain to me how putting Romney in makes us worse off then a 2nd term of Obama. Did the Romans recognize their pivotal moment in history, the Greeks, the Brits? Apparently too many Americans fail to see it as well. Mark my words, we are at a very critical crossroads. A crossroad that you glibly state I am an alarmist steeped in conspiracy, but you will rue the day that you blindly ignored the warnings of so many people.

What if Obama is smarter than you give him credit for? After all, he was able to get himself elected to the highest office in the world. Far more difficult than crossing the street without help.

It's kind of like playing the lottery, if you do not play then you cannot win. One thing you can count on, Obama will not repeal them. In fact he probably will enact more laws. Laws that were not even passed by Congress.

Keep playing your smug routine, and enjoy the freedoms you still have. They may not be around much longer. But I know, a smart person like yourself can see that Mitt is no different than Obama.

Pitiful that anyone could even entertain such thoughts.
