I don't live in a battle ground state but I've noticed a lack of yard signs this year for politicians. Four years ago it seemed that everyone had a yard sign and Obama was everywhere, even here in southern Kentucky. I've seen a few bumper stickers on vehicles over by the university but really haven't seen a lot of them either.
I'm curious if anyone else could tell me if I'm just early or just in the wrong place to see the usual mania that the elections provide.
I keep seeing the polls and wonder if there's so much support then why am I not seeing tangible support for either candidate.
Just so you know without pulling punches I will hold you and others like you personally responsible for a loss. I have Dem friends that I try and stay above the fray with regarding politics and I will hold them responsible as well. This is no ordinary year, election or time. It is of my opinion this is it. Its now or we are done. Sorry but your NO vote will directly impact me. no sugar coating, Im done with the naysayers and “principle” holders
It would be wrong to hold the GOP-E to blame for putting up yet another moderate/liberal, and playing dirty tricks to get their boy the nomination.
I understand where you are coming from.
I'm a conservative. Not a Republican. GOP wants my vote, run a conservative.

DITTO!
Yeah, it’s the same here in NJ. I’m going to call my local RNC and see if I can get one. It is odd, though, never seen this before.
I’m going to get a Romney sign and tack it to a piece of 1x2 and put that into a nice size pail filled with redi-mix concrete and put it in the ground. That ought to give the little bastards a hernia trying to get it out.
I live in Guilford County, NC not too far from Greensboro. In 2008 we transitioned (for a short while) from the county to the city. In our middle class/upper middle class neighborhood in Greensboro every other yard had an Obama sign and all the university and college types with funky cars had Obama stickers.
I just drove around in the city visiting clients this morning. I saw Obama signs in downtown - black neighborhoods - a lot of those “We’ve got his back” signs. I saw a total of three Obama yard signs, all in the city. I lost count of the Romney/Ryan signs around after 50. I spotted 3 new Romney/Ryan signs on the way to the elementary school this morning (in the County). I’ve seen 3 Obama stickers, dozens of Romney stickers.
Those of you who note the lack of signage are right. No where near as many signs and stickers this year.
Lots of down ballot signs though. If you count signs, McCrory has already won the election. Did see one yard with both an Obama and a McCrory sign - don’t get that!
This election is already over, most people at this point fall into two camps:
1) Kool-aid drinking Obama loyalist voter that would vote for him even if he personally threw them and their family into the street and burned their house down.
2) Anti-Obama voter who would vote for a tree stump as long as it gets rid of him.
Luckily for Romney and the Republicans, group 2 is larger than 1, regardless of how the Pravda MSM/Polling companies spin it. I will even go so far as to predict that very few people, except the political hard cores, will even watch the debates.
I drove from Grand Junction to Aspen last weekend and counted 10 Romney signs (large) and 12 bumper stickers and 2 Obama bumper stickers but no signs. And Aspen/Carbondale is liberalville (almost as bad as Boulder). Even our neighbors who were democrat delegates last time, and whose yard was full of signs in 2008- no signs, no stickers, no lectures, no nothing.
The only Obama sign I have seen said “OBAMA SUCKS”.
I’m sure it’s been torn down by now by tolerant liberals.
“I’m not voting for Romney, but I’d let him put a sign in my front yard.”
Uh oh... LOL here come the ABOs!
where do you get one that cheap? I must be looking at the wrong merchandise because everything I find is hundreds, but I’m a girl...what do i know...where can I pick one up?
Here in Pittsburgh an empty chair is code for “don’t park here!”
I’m voting Romney not for change, but just to give us time.
It goes totally against my principles. But this nation slept, when we should have revolted against this a long time ago. They’re putting us in a state of siege, while we can’t seem to agree on the toppings to put on a late night pizza.
All a Romney vote does, is give us breathing space, if he suddenly channels Reagan, I will be so happy, but I am not expecting it. I’m expecting him to weave, and to wobble, and to waffle, training like a wind vane towards any direction where the wind is strongest... and given the unity of our opposition, and the GOP circular firing squad we’re stuck with, draw your own conclusions.
Time to build a bunker, find a refuge, or pray that a General Washington appears and says “follow me”. I’m not counting on a liberal in Republican clothing with a bucket in his hand to drain the swamp in DC. I’m hoping that Romney finds it necessary to maintain his conservative act, and that his effort to keep the wool pulled over our eyes stays his hand from giving the libs too much too soon.
Maybe Romney is a fetal conservative waiting to be born, but I aint seein it. Maybe I’m prejudiced, or maybe I’m blind. But it seems he’s going through the same routine, feed us the same lines to get the same tingle up the leg as you know who the last time.
I’m not a Brandenburg conspiracy theorist, I don’t know much about it other than the name... but events do make me wonder if someone is saying to Romney: you need to start taking this line. Likewise if someone is saying to Obama, you need to start acting more of a fool. We were manipulated from the get go in the last election, I have no reason not to believe the same isn’t happening now.
Romney is poison, but Obama is a bullet... And all the real conservatives we killed with our own knives. After November, I’m done with the Quisling party. I hope there’s another election for us to vote in, and if conservatives don’t have the sense to have their own third party by then, what can I say? “ Where Liberty is, there is my country. “ I might find that land of Liberty in the Tuamotus, or the Marquesas.
If there ever really is a revolution, I’ll sail in like Rhett Butler with the boat load of RPG’s. Depending on my finances. It might be a boat load of sharp sticks and clubs with pigs teeth studded in them.
I don't think that's it. I think it's that the folks who most likely would put a bumper sticker on their vehicle (like myself) just aren't that enthused about Romney. I'm more inclined to put an anti-Obama yard sign than a pro-Romney one.
Undeniably there is a real dearth of Obama signs and stickers compared to four years ago. But compared to 8 and 12 years ago, there are much, much fewer Romney than there were Bush signs and stickers.
Many states don’t allow the signs until October. At least that is what I have been told.
You vote for whoever works for your principles. I'll vote my principles.

Sorry, just makin’ conversation. Enjoy your pizza.
Adios
Same here in a Dem stronghold in SE Michigan. In 2008, there were O signs everywhere and a few McCain/Palin signs. So far this year, I’ve seen 1 O sign. Not even the SEIU folks have them out...
Yet.
“where can I pick one up?”
Wish I could tell you! But,,,, it was in a junkmail flyer that I tossed a few days ago.
