Vanity: November 5 Declaration of War in Mideast - Obama backup plan in case he loses election?

Obama couldn't be doing a worse job in foreign policy and middle east relations. It's almost as if he is trying to get a war started. Reduction of our arms. Exhaustion of our assets. Debt. Deficit. Ridiculous res of engagement, gays in the military, demoralization of our troops.
If he declares war by executive order and martial law before Nov 6 elections, can he suspend them? Can he stay in office?

Obama can’t declare war, only Congress can do that.

As long as we aren’t enforcing any constitutional restraints he can do what ever he wants.

I doubt starting a war will save him. Americans are tired of war.

Obama can’t unilaterally rewrite immigration policy either.
Obama can’t invade Libya without congress.
Oh wait. He did. My point exactly.
1- Declaration of martial law.
2- Executive Order suspending elections.
3- Romney has to sue. Etc.

Obama cant declare war, only Congress can do that.
At one time you wete correct and still technically are. But That was before obama. Now obama wipes his ass with the Constitution and Congress stands around with their fingers up their asses tutting.

I think the Democrat party and Obama realize that the military would oust them from office in order to continue the constitutionally mandated elections.

Agree - he would be forcibly removed from office if he tried to suspend elections.

Obama cant declare war, only Congress can do that. With Obama, we now have a "Mask" Presidency...

Not if a 'rogue' nuclear device were exploded in say, the Port of New York on October 31st. Such a terrorist nuke attack would be tragic, especially if it were to kill hundreds of thousands of Democrat voters, ya know what I'm saying here?
Which is why it would be more likely that such a (ahem, cough-cough) 'rogue' device would be detonated in a red state port, such as Houston, Jacksonville (Florida), Miami, etc.

No. There is nothing in the constitution that permits the president from suspending elections.
People will not stand for that to occur.

People will not stand for that to occur. As long as they keep gettin' their free stuff, half the population won't give a damn.

There’s nothing in the Constitution that PREVENTS him from suspending elections, either.

If half does, that will be more that cared in RWI. Only a third cared enough to do something then.

Maybe Obama will do what Kennedy did in Vietnam...

There’s nothing in the Constitution requiring a “popular” vote; the only obligatory vote is that of the Electoral College.
The method of selecting Electors is left up to the states.

Half of the other half would be on the White House lawn the next day.
