In response to the Sept. 1 letter Color of your skin still matters in this country: How right the writer is. Remember President Obamas State of the Union address when a legislator shouted out You lie!? I am 59 years old and have never seen any president so disrespected.
How about the tea partys we want our country back? Thats blatant racism.
Remember Donald Trump leading the Republican primary? He forced Obama to show his birth certificate again. Trump had no intention of running for president. He doesnt want his business dealings to be scrutinized.
No one can say where Mitt Romney stands on major issues. Hes in a virtual dead heat with Obama because Obama is black.
The Obama presidency highlighted the Republican Party as the white peoples party. Far too many whites will never vote for a black man. But like all other civil rights struggles, there are just enough fair-minded white people to overcome the ignorance.
It still amazes me that a human being can hate another because of skin color. My black brothers and sisters also need to wake up. If they are prejudiced against whites, then they are no better than racist white people.
I think that by electing this countrys first black president, the United States has worldwide respect as never before. Now, we look like we walk it like we talk it.
What do you think the world view was in the 60s? We preached democracy and freedom while white police beat blacks with nightsticks, let dogs bite them, stung them with high-pressure fire hoses. I would imagine the United States was viewed as a nation of hypocrites.
White people, please, dont adhere to the tea party battle cry we want our country back. Check out Romneys position on important issues. Dont vote for Romney just to get rid of the black man in office.

I know I’m not a racist. But my point is that if they want to call me one, have at it. Now let’s discuss obama’s goals. All they can say is “You’re a racist”.
I talked to a guy who has two issues, abortion and gay rights. I pointed out to him that there have been 28 years of republicans in the white house since Roe V Wade. And there have been 12 years of democrats since Roe V Wade, not counting obama. And there are five so called conservative justices on the SC. With all that Roe V. Wade is still the law. So making a decision as to who to vote for based on abortion rights is stupid. Apparently it ain’t goin’ away.
Now, gay rights. First of all, I ask him if he’s gay. He says “no”. So I say “You will decide to vote for president based solely on an issue that does not even affect you?” He didn’t have a response.
I’ve come to the conclusion that there really are a bunch of white folks who are voting for obama so they won’t be thought of as racists. It sure as hell ain’t the issues. The race hustlers are winning.

Actually Joe Wilson shouted You Lie during an unprecedented address to a joint session of Congress about Obama’s health care speech,which he turned into a campaign event.This is the one Obama tried to do on a night of a Republican debate but was turned down.
The Democrats spent 9 years edumacating us to depict the President as a Chimpanzee.
Of course when leftists say it during a Republican administration, (as in Michael Moore's "Dude, Where's My Country") it's an impassioned cry for peace and social justice.

Perhaps I can add some clarity to dispel your fears. The Tea Party Patriots goal is for a constitutional government. They often express that as wanting our country back.
In order to gain a better appreciation of that goal you would need to understand the nations founding documents.
Read the Declaration of Independence to see the reasons we expressed for wanting to get out from under the unlimited powers of King George III and his Parliament.
Pay particular attention to the words We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men. The Constitution did not grant rights to the people, it protected inherent rights.
The founders limited government powers by ratifying a Constitution that only granted the government specific and enumerated powers. After you have a grasp of the Declaration of Independence read the Constitution. Reading the Federalist Papers and Anti-Federalist Papers will aid greatly in understanding the Constitution.
By the way, President Obama was lying.
What Republican debate was going on in 2009? A non-election year.
