How about we just get this thing over with and have a Barbara Bush/Betty White Debate. They could certainly come up with some clever name for it. Now I’d pay to see that, and all proceeds could go to some Animal Relief Fund.
Needless to say, Betty would have absolutely no shot, but it sure would be entertaining!
They’re doing this because, as Alinsky said, “ridicule is man’s most potent weapon”. If they can take over the dialog, they can re-shape it to the point where Clint looks like a doddering old fool, blathering at an empty chair out of senility, not as a representation of the Zer0’s lack of presence. It’ll be another “I can see Russia from my house!” moment.
A big part of what made Eastwood’s appearance a success was the surprise factor.

I predict that well after the election, when emotions have died down and their tears have dried, a lot of lefty actors will acknowledge that every moment of Clint’s performance, including his appearance, was spectacularly well crafted and delivered.
Betty is in production on her two shows and says she can’t make it per a news story this morning on the tube.

Even the consideration of answering Clint's message is an obvious indication that the message drew blood.
Why do they need Betty White’s “I’m a lovable simpleton” routine when they already have her male counterpart?

I doubt that Miss White had or has the slightest intention of speechifying at the convention....and liberal or not, she probably wishes the whole thing would go away....except her agent probably relishes the publicity.

I called this one - I figured they would try to answer Clint. Probably so did many other folks.
Betty White is about as funny as a 12 year old cussing.
If Betty White offers a rebuttal to Clint it will be written, choreographed and staged by the best the Hollywood left can produce. They’re very good at it. But, whatever they do, it won’t be the original.
1. It’s almost guaranteed to suck.
2. Betty would be better off getting SNL and Ben and Jerry’s to release “Dusty Muffin”.
