Many automatically assume that Mitt Romney is the presumptive nominee of the Republican party, and that the Tampa convention will end up being nothing more than a Guthy-Renker Romney infomercial.
That will be news to the Lawyers for Ron Paul who have filed a little covered Federal, civil rights lawsuit, against the GOP and many state GOP parties for election fraud on behalf of the Romney campaign. And yes; although it's no where near the extent of fraud conducted by the Obama campaign in 2008 (or even this year), it has occurred blatantly. In many states including Maine, Missouri, Massachusetts, Oklahoma (and even Puerto Rico) votes went unrecorded or delegates were excluded from caucuses.

If a true conservative comes out of the convention, they will get the base back. No one is excited about Romney (maybe mormons who think he is fulfilling a prophecy). I have yet to talk with one person who “likes” Romney and that is from republicans. Lots of people are saying there are no real choices and want nothing to do with the election. The common response is that they are all corrupt. Lots of people have a problem with Romney and all his money. I know, these are republicans, but they say he hasn’t had to live like normal people. They don’t care if he’s filthy rich, but don’t want that in a president. They also question how he got it all. As bad as obama has been, the republican nominee should be kicking his butt, Romney isn’t getting it done, and hatred of obama is not enough to move these people. Just look at FR and think about how many conservatives are not voting for Romney; and we are political junkies. The average person out there has given up on politics. The gop has to know people don’t like him by polling. Part of the problem is people are finding out what romney did in MA and say all politicians are corrupt.
No thanks. Don’t need the negativity and Republicans beating each other up two months before the election as it would be a great way to do the typical Republican thing of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory. Romney is not my preferred candidate, but I can say that Obama is even farther from that description. Even my cat would be a better President than Obama, and so I am far more willing to give Romney a chance than risk having more of Mr. Awesomely-terrible.

Mitt Romney’s father was a Mexican citizen therefore Mitt Romney is not a naturalized citizen and can not hold the office of president. If Obama’s daddy is a Kenyan then he is not a naturalized citizen either, so neither legally can hold the office of president.

No matter your feelings about the chances of winning, dropping Mittens is the only way for the conservative movement to maintain its dignity. I mean, look at all these people who happily support and defend a known pathological liar? I cannot recall a more dispicable Republican nominee than Mitt Romney, who not too long ago was using his people to sabotage conservative candidates on behalf of the Democrats. Kieth Maddon, one of Romney’s top advisers, was on CNN pushing the Palin = Diva narrative on the eve of the election against Obama! And now so many “conservatives” are accusing others of somehow being unpatriotic for putting Justice before Party?
Some say it is because they love their country more. But these people can only be infidels, as it is an insult to God to pretend that such injustice can be winked at and yet expect God to “heal our land” and restore us to our former glory.
These Mittens Apologists are not conservatives. They are Republicans, which this race has made very clear. When it comes down to crunch time, they’re A-OK with the money changers in the temple SO LONG AS THEY’RE OUR MONEY CHANGERS.
In the end, this is more a spiritual problem than it is political. Too many Americans believe that WE can pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, and so they play these political games at the expense of their own principles. What better President then than Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, a pair of shallow enemies of God who wear lots of makeup and practice catch phrases in front of a mirror?

How are you going to force the normal person who does not like romney to vote for him? I’m not talking about political junkies, but the average person who says he’s just like obama, corrupt. Yes, many of us can’t vote for someone who is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage/adoption... We know God will hold us acccountable for giving power to someone who is ok with evil; although obama has yet to say gays should be able to adopt kids like romney said 6 or 8 weeks ago. Most Christians fear God more than they do obama.
George Romney was born in Mexico but he was never a Mexican citizen, any more than Juan McCain was ever a citizen of Panama. George Romney even ran for President of the United States—I don’t recall anyone saying he wasn’t eligible.
Romney has current net worth north of 250 million US $$.
So he may not have lost a lot of money. But enough about conjecture.
I could’nt care less how much tax Romney paid. All I care is how much will Obama raise MY taxes.
Unless Romney broke some tax laws, his tax returns are private issue and it does not affect me one iota.

I know what you mean about lack of excitement. Last week I went to a big Ted Cruz rally, and yesterday I stood out in a long line in the hot sun for Chick-Fil-A. In both locales, folks were extremely animated and talking about politics, the Tea Party, the rancid descent of the culture, cursing Obama, and all that. In neither situation did I hear a single person bring up Mitt Romney’s name. Not even once. Oh, I’m sure he’ll probably get most of their votes, owing to their stances. But I have yet to witness a single shred of enthusiasm FOR him. It’s almost surreal.

When we watched the terrible things Clinton was doing and how our kids had to hear about things they should know nothing about, we all were angry. Aren’t we being hypocrites by accepting it from romney? How many of us went to pro-life rallies, or chick-a-fil to show we will not accept the sins that are being forced on us and our kids. It’s hard when money is tight, but when we lose our kids hearts and souls to corrupt beliefs we’ve lost the most important thing in life.

George was a Mexican citizen till the day he died. If he was ever nationalized as a US citizen, the evidence has not been made public. Us citizenship wasn’t automatic to children of US parents born on foreign soil at that time.
Mittens is eligible for dual citizenship by having a Mexican father. All he has to do is fill out a form.
Mittens doesn’t care about the country, just about being President. His unlimited ambition, his progressivism disguised as conservatism, and his lack of ability to feel shame for doing evil things is arguably a bigger threat than an open enemy. On top of that, you’ll be asking us to bend over for him again 4 years later, for a total term of 8 years with no real reforms or changes. The idea that a “conservative” congress will be more effective with Mittens is silly. Even Rick Santorum back during the Bush years was saying how deficits were good for the country, since supposedly they made him weigh his votes more. The “conservatives” in congress even now won’t even defund ObozoCare or take the actions they have within their grasp. Meanwhile, Mittens and his buddies have already signaled that they favor tinkering with government to “make things better,” supposedly by virtue of not being Democrats. This includes healthcare and RomneyCare, which they eye as a replacement for ObozoCare. They also don’t even have a legitimate plan for the economy. All this is doing is maintaining mediocrity and making it Law.
Ultimately, though, whoever wins, the solution will not be political. It is a spiritual problem that must be addressed spiritually. Mittens and Obozo, two massive rats, are merely a symptom of our disease. I honestly consider it punishment from God to allow us to be represented by men who, honestly, represent us (the country as a whole) very well spiritually.

Instead, we are asked to vote with the political party that cheated and lied and for a man who is like Ahaz/Manasseh, who thought it was ok to kill innocent babies and took the things of God that was sacred (altar/tabernacle) and desecrate. Just like the people who want to take marriage and desecrate it by allowing homosexual marriage. Government did not give us marriage; God did. I am finishing a book on Ahaz, Hezekiah and Manasseh (Chronicles of the Kings) could not believe the parallels we are facing today.
