Shocking, yes. Surprising? no. Abd (Arabic: عبد‎) is an Arabic word meaning slave or black (interchangeable) -- one who is totally subordinated; a slave or a servant. Are black leaders in America who urge their constituents to convert to Islam telling them that blacks are referred to as their abid (slave) and abeed (slaves) in Islam? Are the imams who are converting black convicts by the thousands in the prisons revealing this to their new followers?

A Muslim police officer in Johannesburg says his religion does not allow him to share a toilet with black colleagues, according to a report on Wednesday.

Superintendent Munaf Ismail, head of the Zonkizizwe police station on the East Rand, told the New Age newspaper that for religous reasons, he used the toilet for people with disabilities.

“I am a Muslim and they need to consider my religion. I have to sit when I urinate and I cannot use a dirty toilet. People are narrow-minded and I am a committed Muslim.”

Well, I don't know about you specifically of course, so my statements below are generic and not about you personally in any way. Some Irish were slave-holders in the south (like in gone with the wind :), while some folks who are Irish-American may have blood from southern slave-holders

Also, the Irish are descended from a mixture of ancient Gaels and Normans (to some extent) as well as Danes and Romans (to a very small extent), while the ancient Irish also enslaved other Irish.

So, in a "broader" context a "pure-blood Irish" :) would most probably have slaves as well as slave-holders in their bloodline. that's what I meant -- not specifically black slaves

the San as a people haven't enslaved anyone -- because they never moved from a hunter-gatherer existence and slaves would be useless.

I've got 50K+ ocean miles under my belt, and let me tell you, men don't go below to a head to take a pee! They hang it over the side to leeward, or "check for reefs astern," in the words of an old sailing mentor. The idea that any man would go below and go through the process of opening and closing through-hull valves etc just to take a piss is laughable. Look at all of that salt water around the old Escape Pod! Come on, get real! In really heavy weather, crazy stuff, where going to the side is like climbing from car to car on a roller-coaster, sailors use an old mayonaise jar or the like in the cockpit. Or they just piss in the cockpit, which drains straight down to the sea, "flushed" by the waves and spray. But 98% of the time, men on sailboats piss over the side. "Heads" on sailboats are not like toilets on the land, to say the least, especially when the boat is typcially heeled over about 20*, while pitching, rolling and yawing. So for starters, the head's seat is leaning over at 20*. Much, much easier to brace against the old radar arch on the stern, and let her rip.

Is this a joke? In 99% of the Muslim world a “Turkish toilet” is a hole in the floor. If it’s classy, there are two footprints marked on either side. The man-dress jeballa is pulled up, and nature is called. In Muslim tradition, the left hand is then used for “toilet paper,” which did for what not grow in the deserts.

My B-I-L and the Family did most of their sailing between Marina Del Rey and Avalon.

If we were there with the Wives, which was every time I sailed with them, NOBODY was peeing off the side of that Boat. LOL

We were in Europe sailing the Adriatic back in the 90’s on his Bosses 90’ Restored 1936 era Wood Sailing Yacht. NOBODY peed off the side of that Boat either. Again, there were Women aboard, our Wives and the Crew Cook and Hostess.

We were living Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, for a week anyway. I don't think Robin Leach ever peed over the side of a Yacht either.

Without the Women around, nobody would go below deck to pee, especially with the amount of Beer being consumed.
