Brought out of the dark depths of the United Nations Millenium Development Goal (UNMDG), the call is out for a billionaire's tax. It's been on paper for years now, but few believe it.
The United Nations on Thursday called for a tax on billionaires to help raise more than $400 billion a year for poor countries.I cannot source the graphic or date it, but it makes the point. Along with this, the UN is on the March, likely trying to get as much of this nonsense through before Obama is chucked out of office. An annual lump sum payment by the super-rich is one of a host of measures including a tax on carbon dioxide emissions, currency exchanges or financial transactions proposed in a UN report that accuses wealthy nations of breaking promises to step up aid for the less fortunate. ...
There are an estimated 425 billionaires in the United States, 315 in the Asia-Pacific region, 310 in Europe, 90 in other North and South American countries and 86 in Africa and the Middle East. Source: Washington Times
UNMDG - Dated August 2000, under Governments:
3. To move towards creation of alternative revenue sources for the United Nations. The United Nations should set up expert groups and begin the necessary intergovernmental negotiations towards establishing alternative revenue sources, which could include fees for the commercial use of the oceans, fees for airplane use of the skies, fees for use of the electromagnetic spectrum, fees on foreign exchange transactions (i.e., the Tobin Tax) and a tax on the carbon content of fuels. The billions raised is to be used for "poor countries?" Bwaaaahahahahaha!
Like European nations ceded power to the EU our government could cede some power to the UN. Something i would put past Obama trying to do.
A taxing authority? The UN? Really? When did that happen?
It’s time to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US. It has far outlived its usefulness, and has far outgrown its mandate.
This is madness...
We need to ask Roberts if this is a tax or a penalty.....
So that is a total of 1226 billionaires. Lets be generous and say each one has $10 billion in assets; that is a total of about $12 trillion. According to Wolfram Alpha, worldwide government spending is $14 trillion per year. Even if they confiscated every dollar, the money from the world's billionaires wouldn't last. This is just the "foot in the door". The real purpose is to further tax the middle class, until it is gone. Liberals never stop until they reach "equality"; that being a feudal state.
the “billionaire” tax is supposed to raise $46 Billion but the goal of these global crooks is $400 Billon - a year?
who in the entire 3rd world can even handle this amount of graft? Oh wait, international bankers...
Don't know of anyone who might have reliable info on the topic. Romney seems to have a better understanding and respect for the Constitution than most of the Left and we DO KNOW what Obama and his ilk ARE saying about how we need more taxes on/for everything.
And tax collectors don't take all your stuff and send you to prison or come after you with SWAT teams if you don't pay up?
Government is the most violent force on earth.
200-million human beings were murdered by their own governments in the twentieth century alone.
Tell me again how the UN demanding my money and a mugger demanding my money are different?
First, the OPEC billionnaires; when that is shown to be feasible (never), then the leftist billionnaires.
Thanks maggiesnotebook.
“Tell me again how the UN demanding my money and a mugger demanding my money are different?”
The UN has no taxing authority or collecting authority over you. The UN cannot put you in jail. They can’t make you pay any taxes, only your government can do that.
They are trying DESPERATELY to change that, because once they get it, they are the de facto world government, and they will grow like a metastatic cancer.
