Big Guy cant do anything about the deficit because he cant get the do-nothing Congress to work with him. He cant do anything about the terrible economy (which he isnt responsible for anyway that honor goes to George W and his do-too-much Congress) because the do-nothing Congress wont let him spend any more money.
This has some of our Dems rattled. Theyre starting to ask What is Big Guy responsible for? And what is the Big White really competent at? So weve been tasked with coming up with a list. Heres what weve got so far:
...parties
...and last, butt not least, using mass media to promulgate our pogroms.
The latest entry in this category is another Food TV show, Restaurant Impossible:
Another reality program has descended upon Washington, hoping to make-over one more of our struggling businesses/institutions for the amusement of a television audience. The only difference this time is that the crews were invited by Michelle Obama.
Host of the Restaurant Impossible series is iron-pumper and former member of the British Royal Navy, Robert Irvine. The rest of his qualifications, like many others around here, remain a little shady hazy. Butt that hasnt prevented him from becoming a huge star either.

Don’t miss the video from GBTV at the end!
“...and last, butt not least, using mass media to promulgate our pogroms. “
“Butt that hasnt prevented him from becoming a huge star either.”
This must be the Bleacher Report of the blogs. Where spell check is never used and written by HS kids.
I happened to be watching the show as it came on last night, while chatting with my son (a chef) who had just gotten home. I saw Butt-Ugly get on the screen and immediately changed the channel (after cursing). I can’t believe we have to put up with the Obama’s everywhere we turn.
It’s intentional.
It’s actually one of the wittiest and most intelligent blogs out there. Perhaps you should look into the reason Motus spells butt that way, before jumping to conclusions.
Sorry President Obama but you've been chopped.
Sure, I got the butt’ angle of it. ;P How about progroms’?
Wonder how much the viewership dropped for that episode. We, too found other things to do.
On the whole, however, I’d far prefer a First Lady’s pet project be about eating healthy and exercise (or reading, ala Laura Bush) than, oh, trying to take over 1/7 of the economy in a series of secret meetings.
But yeah, it seems like MO is saturating the airwaves. Can’t see how that helps the mis-Administration however, as she’s so unlikable.
As for Restaurant Impossible, the show is founded on the sleight-of-hand of saying “we can do this massive remodeling for only $10,000”, when that amount is for materials only, not labor. That said, having watched many an episode (the Mrs. is a fan), should I ever go into the restaurant business, hopefully I’ve learned enough to avoid some very costly mistakes.
It was a fairly benign show with only one section that I’d call overly political in nature, and that was during the part about the garden.
Of course, showing Mooch in a positive light is designed to rebound to positive impressions of the first family.
The first time I saw Irvine my Gaydar alerted..
“Possible bogey, 12 o’clock.’
That said, I watch his show sometimes. Liked his other show where he fed large groups of folks, often troops.
Jeopardy even pisses me off sometimes...in all of Dubya's 8 yrs I don't recall one GOOD question about him...yet they've had glorious question about the bamey guy and his deranged wife all the time...
I enjoy this show and am a faithful watcher. However, I hit the off button last night. I wasn’t about to watch Moochelle tell yet more people what they could and could not eat.
Absolutely agree Samanella. We watch the show every time it’s on, not because of Irvine, (since he was caught in all those lies I’ve never thought very highly of him) but because we like to see the turn arounds. We also read online to see if the restaurants are still open and whether they’re improving or not.
We deliberately did not much the much-advertised MOOOO comes to Restaurant Impossible show.
It’s like Harry’s Law. I was really looking forward to it but in the first show, they slammed Bush. Immediately changed the channel and never watched again. I’m done with Betty White now, too.
Is this the guy you’re referring to?

Yes carriage_hill, that’s him.
