Yesterday on a thread FReeper marron was very good to discribe her very own Financial SHTF experience. Seeing what is more than likely coming our way I believe her post to be extremely valuable information and I am posting it here again to make sure that as many FReepers read it.

Thank you marron the firsthand expereince and the information you shared is priceless to those currently prepping and should be eye opening to those that aren't.

I forgot critical theory. Not critical thinking, but critical theory....

Now used in various business functions, too. Get yours today!

I’m a bit confused by your reply to me. I am sure there are enough people in America who are evil enough to be death camp or gulag guards, or Babi Yar executioners. I also do not think that Christians or conservatives or recalcitrants of any kind will be rounded up en masse and sent to camps. Why? Because there are too many recalcitrants and we are armed and the mil isn’t all bad, many are good guys who will not go along with such plans, and the US is too big. Do I think there will be violence and hardship ahead? You bet.

You and I are pretty much in agreement, the original discussion was my response (29) to post 26.

The biggest nugget? How about +/-30 years of knowledge on the subject?

Deconstruction of text
Ed Philosophy
Studs Terkel
“Teaching as a Subversive Activity”

Look not only at the curricula of K-12, but also of Colleges of Ed. Everyone is taught his thoughts, him and his ‘cohort.’

Communities of Practice
Self-organizing systems
Cohort
The argument over what exactly IS basic education
“Service learning”
Thematic studies as model curricula
Oh yes. _ _ _ (”xYZ”) ‘justice’

The radicals have captured the flagship of American education at the highest AND deepest levels. Witness Arne Duncan’s policies. Ayres is right there.

...and critical theory.

From another article:
“Ayers speaks openly of his desire to use America’s public school classrooms to train a generation of revolutionaries who will overturn the U.S. social and economic regime. He teaches that America is oppressive and unjust, socialism is the solution, and wealth and resources should be redistributed.

In Ayers’s course called “On Urban Education,” he calls for a “distribution of material and human resources.” His left-wing notions would be very compatible with those of Obama, who publicly told Joe the Plumber that we should “spread the wealth.”

Ayers’s books are among the most widely used in America’s education schools. Ayers even uses science and math courses as part of his “transformative” political strategy to teach that the American economic system is unjust.

Ayers is an endorser of a book called “Queering Elementary Education” by William J. Letts IV and James T. Sears, a collection of essays to teach adults and children to “think queerly.” The blurb on the cover quotes Ayers as saying this is “a book for all teachers … and, yes, it has an agenda.”

I went to some trouble to go get relevant text and add my own. If you want more, go get it yourself. It’s all there. It has been for a very long time.

I know that he has opinions, and left-wing goals but that isn’t what you said.

I would like to see your source for Bill Ayers being the most powerful and influential educator in America and the American system of education.

I go back to my own work, experience, network and study. There are other actors, but Ayres is the key.

“Handbook of Social Justice in Education: required reading in many of the nation’s Schools of Education.

Concept of “critical pedagogy” theory, based upon Paolo Freie’s book “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” which is also must reading in academic educational circles.

My “source” is the entire stellium of people, political contacts, writings, books, grants, and study. Woods, Annenberg, Coalition of Essential Schools, North Central and affiliates, state agency after state agency executive, Chicago, Small Schools, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Teacher’s College at the U of Chicago.

Oh. I don’t know just how many professors-to-be Ayres has taught, but those people turned around and taught teachers. I don’t know how many of those people teach. Nor do I know how many of each of these intersecting groups sit on boards or are actors in various national groups.

Were I to state Ayres’ actual influence, it’s more a situation of a presupposition. Ayres’ ideology is predominant. Odd that he preaches against the “hegemony” of American ideals, in that he has become part of it, even in his anti-authoritarian totalitarianistic thought.

It’s what they do when they don’t have a source for a claim, they just start dumping pages of text and links and try to pretend that it is hidden in there somewhere.

“Waiting for Superman”

“President of Teachers Union: Public Schools Are Agents of Social Justice”
http://lonelyconservative.com/2009/12/president-of-teachers-union-public-schools-are-agents-of-social-justice/

(Randi Weingarten)

AERA VP
“But through his indoctrination of future K–12 teachers, Ayers has been able to influence what happens in hundreds, perhaps thousands, of classrooms.

Ayers’s influence on what is taught in the nation’s public schools is likely to grow in the future. Last month, he was elected vice president for curriculum of the 25,000-member American Educational Research Association (AERA), the nation’s largest organization of education-school professors and researchers. Ayers won the election handily, and there is no doubt that his fellow education professors knew whom they were voting for. In the short biographical statement distributed to prospective voters beforehand, Ayers listed among his scholarly books Fugitive Days, an unapologetic memoir about his ten years in the Weather Underground. The book includes dramatic accounts of how he bombed the Pentagon and other public buildings.

AERA already does a great deal to advance the social-justice teaching agenda in the nation’s schools and has established a Social Justice Division with its own executive director. With Bill Ayers now part of the organization’s national leadership, you can be sure that it will encourage even more funding and support for research on how teachers can promote left-wing ideology in the nation’s classrooms—and correspondingly less support for research on such mundane subjects as the best methods for teaching underprivileged children to read.”

“Saaaayyyyy, is that the very same Bill Ayers who hosted the launch of Obama’s political career in his own living room? “

Funny how people said ol’ Billyboy wasn’t going to amount to much and lets not prosecute him for his domestic terrorism and the thought of Obama becoming President was mental, yet, there they are, Obama is President and Bill got him there.

I’m not a troll. I thought there was interest in the material. Do I really need to connect the dots to every plank of the NEA, the head of the teachers union, Arne Duncan and the NCAA? As well as to the leadership of every state education agency and public school system, along with the principal and largest colleges of education and their curricula?

The better question is what/which parts of Ayres’ agenda for education are NOT now part of K-16?

It's not "hidden in there". It is in plain sight for anyone to see, in clear detail.

Nice of you to ask for proof and when you get it grumble that it's too hard to read all those paragraphs.

My God man! you don't expect me to wade through two whole screens of information do you????

I mean really! Two whole screens!!!

That's like a full page printed out! My eyes, please have mercy on my eyes, make it short, mommy, make it short, or make it go away! WAAAAAH!

It seems you couldn’t find the proof in there either. We know what he did for a living, and how he did what he could to advance his agenda and met with some successes, but THE standard?

I would like to see your source for Bill Ayers being the most powerful and influential educator in America and the American system of education.

You do see that you’ve been shown the thing which you denied, that Ayres had any meaningful input into America’s curriculum, has been documented beyond question.

Now you are reduced to saying he wasn’t THE architect, just a major contributor, while still attempting to imply he had no influence what-so-ever.

Put ten educators in a room and ask who was THE architect, and you’ll get 12 answers. I’m not debating a matter of taste and opinion with you.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Worse, obvious troll is BOR-ing.

Don’t be an troll, no one said that he didn’t have any influence. The issue was him being THE most influential educator in America

Read post 136 again. question “I would like to see your source for Bill Ayers being the most powerful and influential educator in America and the American system of education.”

Interestingly, you seem to have a view of American history that is like his agenda, yet your education predates him.
