A phenomenon known as a 'roll cloud' -a very rare form of Arcus cloud- was seen in eastern Texas early this morning...
it's formed when a cool outflow of air from a substantial thunderstorm jets-out ahead of the system in a rotating rope that can run 50 miles long...

I am surprised the space alien nut cases have not come out in force declaring this some type of alien invasion tactic.

My bro is a weather freak...and was in shipping for a long time. He'll love this....
Our local weathermen are obsessed so I'm sure they'll mention it.

That was my take. I grew up in Tulsa and have seen those a lot over the decades.

"I am surprised the space alien nut cases have not come out in force declaring this some type of alien invasion tactic." I never thought of that. Now I know what's inside that roll cloud. Thank you for warning us.

In Fort Worth I woke up this morning hearing a sound like it was severely high winds outside.... a constant sound. Then realized that it was thunder. Strange

I stood right under one of these back in the early 70’s. It happened in Md. Stretched from horizon to horizon. I just stood there in awe watching it come on.
I ran the heck into the house when it got overhead! Stuff was flying everywhere. I’ll never forget it.
