Most of this will sound depressingly familiar...
"The organizer must become schizoid politically, in-order not to slip into being a 'true believer'. Before men can act an issue must be polarized....
What I am saying is that the organizer must be able to split himself into two parts- one part in the arena of action where he polarizes the issue 100-to-nothing, and helps to lead his forces into conflict... while the other part knows that when the time comes for negotiations it is really only 10% difference- and yet both parts have to live comfortably with each other"
______________________________________________
"Throughout these desired quantities (in the 'organizer') is interwoven a strong ego, one we might describe as monumental in terms of solidity...
______________________________________________
Re. political relativity: "The organizer must have... a flexible personality, not a rigid structure that breaks when something happens. Having his own personality, he has no need for the security of an ideology... that the only certain fact of life is uncertainty... all values are relative in the the world of political relativity"

Re. irreverance: "To the questioner, nothing is sacred... he defies any any finite definition of morality... He is challenging, insulting, agitating, discrediting. He stirs unrest..."

"To say that corrupt means corrupt the ends is to believe in the immaculate conception of ends and principles.
The real arena is corrupt and bloody..."

This article is a good idea. Wish it were fleshed out more: more context.
Also, this part is confusing:
“To say that corrupt means corrupt the ends is to believe in the immaculate conception of ends and principles.

Agree the thread is a good idea. Alinsky was a genius in terms of understanding human political behavior, and all that he described can be used by either side, for or against an issue. Above all, “forewarned is forearmed” and only dummies go into battle unprepared.
That said, a little more meat would probably be appreciated by those who are motivated to learn from your efforts.

I think it means you can’t make and omlet without breaking some eggs.
