Why did the Trayvon Martin Special Prosecutor dismiss the grand jury?

It was reported Monday that Special Prosecutor Angela Corey would NOT be giving the Trayvon Martin case to the assembled and waiting Grand Jury in Seminole County, Florida.

As it requires a Grand Jury to bring an indictment of first degree murder, the move by the Special Prosecutor takes the possibility of a capital charge against George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin, off the table.

Of course, there is a SPECIAL prosecutor because Martin was black and, contrary to long standing tradition, he was NOT shot by another black.

Because such a radical departure from accepted procedure immediately elicited cries of “racism” from blacks across the nation– guaranteeing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would sprint to the scene and the nearest camera–the regular prosecutor decided to call it a day. Florida Governor Rick Scott then appointed Corey.

Corey’s dismissal of the Grand Jury leads to a number of interesting possibilities.

Perhaps the Special Prosecutor was afraid the evidence, or rather the LACK of necessary evidence against George Zimmerman would result in no indictment by the Grand Jury and wanting to follow the safe, politically mandated course, has decided to file a charge herself, just to make sure.

Perhaps Corey is an honorable individual who knows that the evidence will NOT support a charge of murder, or indeed any charge at all.

Therefore, she took the case—and all subsequent blame–upon herself due to a concern that, intimidated by race-hustlers and threats surrounding Martin’s death, the Grand Jury might return an indictment based principally on fear, an indictment which no prosecutor would be able to make stick.

Then, after months of preparation and a drawn out, media circus before the court, a verdict of “Not Guilty” would be pronounced—the verdict Angela Corey

Angela Corey is up for re-election. Jacksonville’s population is 1/3 black.

Skipping the Grand Jury and filing murder charges appeases a large sector of the electorate and safely punts the case into next year.

The reason is because there wasn’t a charge of 1st degree murder. Simple as that.

Probably she was afraid the GJ would not indict Zimmerman.

I see two possibilities:

1. The GJ doesn't indict Zimmerman and the expected racial "unrest" occurs.

2. The GJ does indict Zimmerman, but for first degree murder, and she knows that no prosecutor in the world can convict him on the evidence. Upon his subsequent acquittal, the expected racial "unrest" occurs.

Speaking as a former Prosecutor, we would rarely take cases like this to the Grand Jury. We always preferred to make the call ourselves. Sometimes we would because we didn’t want to go through a preliminary hearing. This just isn’t an unusual move at all.

Not when you know the outcome it isn't.

Nah. She's a scum-sucking race pimp who is depriving George Zimmerman of his rights under color of law.

But at the most fundamental level, it was Zimmerman himself that screwed-up at the most basic level. When you carry a firearm you have to be especially careful to avoid a confrontation. Zimmerman screwed the pooch on that one.

How was George Zimmerman supposed to know that the young tough Trayvon Martin liked street boxing, had an attitude & was dumb enough to bring his gangsta thug fists to a gunfight, instead of bringing home the requested Skittles to his brother Chad?

Still can't figure out why Chad didn't get all antsy about not getting his Skittles.

Maybe little Chad knew something about what happened to his brother, the young tough...

I wonder how Hispanics are feeling about this.

George Zimmerman’s mother is a latina, and though we know he’s not, George LOOKS like a pure-bred Mexican. Hispanics and blacks have never been a natural alliance, one could even say they’ve been a bit weary of each other.

This whole thing could backfire in that Hispanics are probably feeling a great deal of affinity with George, and could take offense at what will surely appear to them as an attempt to railroad one of their own. Far more votes could be lost as a result of pushing this, than will be gained among blacks, who are already solidly in the Obama camp.

I think it’s a big political blunder for the left to try to gain politically by pushing the envelope here.

Speaking as a former Prosecutor...

Have you examined the website Wagist.com?

Most in-depth site on this that there is:

Excellent. They have a new article out with the trial judge.

they are seeking monetary justice, or more directly monetary gain. THAT is the motivation; and the absence of an “arrest” is what stood between them and their ability to sue in civil court”.

Ask yourself why would anyone want an arrest without a conviction? “We are not asking that he be convicted; We are asking that he be arrested”

this morning Martin’s mother said she thought it was an ‘accident’. Hours later she says he was ‘stalked and hunted’...

Follow the money.

Holder is also in on it.

Why didn't the special prosecutor go after the DA whose “malfeasance” necessitated her appointment?

Because she's not a Special Prosecutor.

On 23 March Norm Wolfinger, States Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida asked to be recused in the Trayvon Martin shooting case. To replace him, the Governor nominated the States Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court, Angela Corey. For this case she is just the prosecutor.

The reason she dismissed the grand jury rhymes with NO BILL.

My point is that if there is evidence that compels a prosecution found by the second prosecutor then it was ignored by the original DA. More “racisim” donchaknow. Prosecute it. It would make an excellent show. I mean, imagine what the DA would have to do and say to defend himself. The Left of course understands this. This is why they find that Zim is an evil honkey for getting off...but no one is responsible for it!

She has a duty to the people toinvestigate the first DA who found no crime where she subsequently did (without any new evidence). SOMEONE has this duty. Of course no one on the left is stupid enough to prosecute the DA because they know he would defend himself.
