We’ve heard the words of German Pastor Niemoller who lamented that he stood by and did nothing as the Nazis murdered people by category.
Niemoller said, “First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew,” and so on.
For the past three years Barack Obama could be paraphrasing Niemoller. Obama might have said, “First I attacked Christians, especially Catholics trying to force them to violate their religious beliefs. When I lost them as supporters I didn’t care because I had lots of other supporters.”
He could have said, “I attacked oil producers with Cap and Trade and my support fell. Since I had other groups to vote for me I didn’t care.”
When he lied and cheated to pass Obamacare people rose up and kicked the Democrats out of control of the Congress, Obama was saying, “Sure I’ve lost some supporters because of these underhanded tricks but, so what? I’ve got plenty of supporters who love socialized healthcare.”
Further along he said, “When I insulted Israel and lost some Jewish support, I thought ‘no problem’ I still have lots of other supporters.”
When it came to gun owners, gaffe machine Joe Biden grabbed the stage and “hinted” that re-electing Democrats to rule our lives would lead to ‘debates’ over the Second Amendment. Obama and Biden still don’t care because they believe they have other supporters to make up for those they lose by attacking our Second Amendment rights.

That he had the support of Catholics tells us more about the Catholics than about Obama. He did not have the support of those who hold on to Christ, alone.
None of the polls had a category called "Those who hold on to Christ, alone". However I'd wager that you'd find people who self-describe tha way, in every listed category. What does that prove altogether?
Something very much worse than what you think, DutchBoy88. It suggests that voters vote much more by race than by faith. Catholics make up less than 25% of the population, and vote overall almost identically to “All Voters” (a fact of which I am not proud). But with non-Catholic Christians outnumbering Catholics two to one, it would be rather stupid to blame Obama on Catholics.

Hey, those bright colors really make your point. By the way, what is your point? The folks I know don’t fit any of those “categories”. But, Catholics need those categories, don’t they.
And, yes, the blacks who vote race (nearly all of them) are wrongheaded for the wrong reasons. They voted for him because he was black. But, Catholics voted for him because they are primarily liberal leaning progressives who love those labor policies, union policies, JFK policies. But, go to Boston and ask, “What do the Catholics want here in the high population cities of the East?” and you will find it is very much in line with Pelosi, Biden, Kennedys, et al. How do you think the liberal dem dynasties get going?
The believers who cling to Christ, alone, (without any organizational props) see that liberalism is a political/social sinful disease similar to communism. If by “evangelicals” you mean the sheeple who trot around after the Joel Osteens, Rick Warrens, et al, these are not folks I would understand as biblically informed. I would put them in the same category as the sappy Catholics who fell for this guy to begin with. Go talk to your group about changing their votes and getting this guy out, not those who never voted for him to begin with.
I copied the colors from another FReeper (non-Catholic: sorry Alex), and the colors signify red for the Republicans, blue for the Democrats, a palette I find confusing, but hey, it's what the statistic crunchers are using lately.
Thus, none of this is a particularly Catholic thing, any more than rising acceance pf Obama is an Evangelical thing. Quite the contgrary. Nor have I ever put you in any category, Dutchboy88.
So let's abstain from all that, and just work together to stop Obama, 'K?
Since the Niemöller anecdote is repeatedly brought up...
Does anyone think Niemöller (or anyone else) could have “done” something to stop the rise of Nazi Germany? God is behind all history, don’t forget. He uses the devil and all his children for His own righteous purposes. Let’s not imagine we are in control here!
