You probably already know that Martin's mother, Sabrina Fulton, has sought to register two trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office (click here). Even more interesting is the use her attorney, Kimra Major-Morris (click here), has claimed for these marks:
Digital materials, namely, CDs and DVDs featuring TRAYVON MARTIN; Digital media, namely, pre-recorded DVDs, downloadable audio and video recordings, and CDs featuring and promoting TRAYVON MARTIN; Digital media, namely, pre-recorded video cassettes, digital video discs, digital versatile discs, downloadable audio and video recordings, DVDs, and high definition digital discs featuring TRAYVON MARTIN; Digital media, namely, CDs and DVDs featuring TRAYVON MARTIN; DVD cases; DVD sleeves; DVDs featuring TRAYVON MARTIN
So,this is not a mere matter of slapping Martin's face on T-Shirts. As of the date of filing, 3/21/12, Ms. Fulton, or someone advising her, plans to use
I AM TRAYVON and
JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON in some sort of commercial video presentations.

Ridiculous. You can register all the trademarks you want, but you have to be willing and financially able to DEFEND them. Why do you think knock-off handbags, goilf clubs etc are so popular? Because anyone, including foreign interests can copy and duplicate anything they want. They are only blocked when you’re willingly to pay for legal remediation. Useless. Feelin’ very NLN!

The next Tupac, except he had no musical talent.... Oh wait... neither did Tupac.

in the realm of entertainment — perhaps I’ve watched too many movies about Motown — “intellectual property rights” are...well, I think the idea dies even before all the syllables have had their utterance. One doesn’t go citing jurisprudence to a Mob enforcer.

Does anyone have a pic of what he looked like at the time of the incident (like, not when he was 12)?
