The Daily Call ^

Internet pornography could conceivably become a thing of the past if Rick Santorum is elected president.
The unapologetic social conservative, currently in second place behind Mitt Romney for the GOP nomination, has promised to crack down on the distribution of pornography if elected.

And simple minded Americans still believe in this moral cop? He will not get the nomination but will give it to Romney. And what is Romney? Who in the freaking world knows.
To: C. Edmund Wright
And besides, saying this kind of thing will give us Obama.Pure conjecture on your part. Look at what happened in the recent primaries! I agree the nation is equally divided, but I disagree with your premise that you can have your cake (porn, in this example) and your Constitution, too.
America is divided between those who want to keep their sin - at any cost!
...and those who know where we are headed if we do not repent!

The GOP electorate is killing this country by supporting this fascist dweeb.
Hey moron. You have no idea what you're talking about. Actual fascists were all into pornography.

Amendment X The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
So would it be correct to conclude that in your view, all federal statutes prohibiting or restricting pornography are unConstitutional?

Anybody who tries to stop internet porn will be as effective as the boy sticking his finger in the dike. Anybody who tries to stop internet porn will be as effective as the man sticking his finger in the dyke.

Yours is one of the best posts I’ve read in a long time. Anyone who thinks we can allow an entire generation of kids to be immersed daily in porn and survive as a nation is in a state of denial.
To: Antoninus
Awesome! A Christian Ayatollah. Yeah, no thanks.
I will fight fascism in any form it shows its face in.
Besides, if there wasn't a demand then porn would be an afterthought. Parents need to be doing their jobs not the government.

Hmmmmm.
I'm no prude, but the days of sneaking into Dad's bottom dresser drawer to look at his copy of "Playboy" are over.
A 10 second search on "Google" will yield pore-level photography that would make a gynecologist blush. Or photographs of topics that I'd never have conceived of as a 12-year old (or frankly, understand now as an adult. I work in IT and once audited a guy who had 1000's of pics of naked Barbie dolls, all neatly catagorized on his laptop. Things that make you go ????????).
Having said all that, you're right in that there are higher priorities. I think that Rick has the right idea, but the wrong time, wrong place, and on the wrong topic. All BO would need to do to get elected is point at him and say: "That guy wants to take your porn away!!!!! Oh, and have some more free stuff."
End of election.

What an offensively shallow analysis and post. Wow.
First, to compare an Alabama and Mississippi primary to a national general election is sophistry, and that’s the kindest word I can think of. It’s naive. It’s foolish actually.
Second, to say that I am offended that Rick would talk about this is not the same as being pro porn. That is another foolish assessment on your part.
Frankly, I do not need the President to keep me from sin. He or she cannot do that anyway, and it’s not their job.
A moral people is not the same as an immoral people who are supposedly constrained by a national pastor as President. The entire notion is laughable.
I am sorry you cannot stay off the porn unless Rickie takes it away from you.
But he will never win an election if he is painted into a corner like that, and he carries that doggoned brush around with him every time he opens his yap.
To: timlot
yet again the left/MSM/left wing propaganda will use every tactic to scare people or make it look like Santorum is trying to just use social issues when he is talking about other issues much more.
For the record I’m for Newt or hopefully Sarah and Col Allen West comes in and saves the day but this is pathetic by the left MSM to paint him as a social issue nutter.
He has never said he would do this so why will some freepers now jump on this if it is a done deal

This country is about to go bankrupt and he still focuses on moral platitudes. Not that I would endorse the Santorum approach to porn or endorse Santorum himself - though, unlike Romney I'd vote for him in the general..
All that said, be sure that our economic problems are the result of a breakdown of the family and a common moral ethos. It's not the other way around.

Exactly. How difficult would it be for a future Democrat administration to label THIS place as "obscene"?
Ostensibly such legislation is about "protecting the children" or this or that group. Places like Free Republic discuss guns, and the liberals all know that guns kill children just by their very existence, and you can't have children reading about guns, so let's get some legislation going to restrict access to websites that discuss guns!
That's exactly what would happen. More government bureaucracy would have to be created to help censor the internet, and once you create a new government bureaucracy they start casting about for more stuff to do, because more stuff = more funding. And the liberals would start trying to push through all kinds of legislation once they have a Government Internet Censorship Bureau to play with.
To: Jonty30
he hasn’t said he would do this , this is left wing crap and being taken in by idiots on our side and I’m not even a Santorum fan.
Seems today you can post anything on the internet and million s will jump to the wrong conclusions and actually think what they have just read is the truth.
How sad and pathetic

The Left will rise up against Santo like they never have before. He will energize their effort to degrees that will astound even the scoffers,
Big deal. That's what the proudly immoral always do. According to you and Mitch Daniels and the rest of the GOP-e, the proper course of action for the rest of us is to shut up and take it.
Sorry, but no thanks.

When did it ever work out for the People when a government projected it's version of morality on to it's citizens?
That's no different than the millions slaughtered by the communists.

Judging by the responses of the Santorum supporters on this thread I have discovered that the nation is ~$16 trillion in debt and on the verge of socialism because grown men look at obscene material in the sanctity of their own homes.
