Mitt Romney was supposedly named after the mitt-shaped borders of Michigan. He needs to win Michigan or his credibility may vaporize. But he seems to be neglecting the one key area that could swing the vote over to him: winning the African-American vote in suburban Detroit. Bill Cosby's cousin, Merisa Davis, just released a book of how the average Black family in American is socially conservative. Most White people don't know this but most
Black moms are pro-life. Mitt probably has not courted that vote, much to his peril. More insight on conservative Black families: BILL COSBY IS RIGHT book author takes a moral look at Status of African-American community:

No, he was not named after the “mitt-shapped” state of Michigan.
Romney was named after hotel magnate J. Willard Marriott, his father’s best friend, and his father’s cousin Milton “Mitt” Romney, 19251929 quarterback for the Chicago Bears.
What is up, my man? What is happening?
Give me some skin. Give me some more! Cool.
Do me a solid. Vote for me, my brother.
heh
I’m sure both conservative black voters in Michigan will give due consideration to voting for Mitt. :)
Might explain why his cabin boy was campaigning at a Detroit Baptist church today.
Mitt just needs some sort of `ice-breaker’ and I think I have the perfect one for him.
“It’s a real honor to be invited to Grace Baptist African Methodist church, I want to thank your elders and I’m sure the love offering will go to a good cause ...
“Let’s open this up to the floor.
“So, what year is your Cadillac? (All hands raise)”
No, gate, that Romney cat ain't nowhere. He's so square, he's cubed. But Santorum--now there's a reet, voot solid hep cat!
When I first read that, I thought it sounded nutty, so I'm glad you cleared it up, CharlesWayneCT - not that I'm supporting Romney, but simply that I don't like dumb reporting, even by bloggers.
Referring to the state of Michigan as "The Mitten" is a relatively new phenomenon that didn't gain popularity until decades after Willard Romney's birth.
Bishop Willard Mitt Romney’s middle name is from his father’s cousin Milton Romney, nicknamed ‘Mitt’. All these waves of lies emanating from the Mexico seraglio to Michigan and back again. There is no white horse here, just a whitewashed jackass. Such a fake, bogus, sham, simulated homunculus of a lil’ godlet is the Bishop. I suppose the RNC figures it takes a created identity to defeated a created identity.
Romney’s middle name which he uses as a first name comes from the nickname of Romney’s father’s cousin, Milton “Mitt” Romney who was a Chicago Bears Quarterback. Willard comes from the middle name used a first name by Romney’s father’s friend J. Willard Marriott (of the hotel Marriotts).
Rick Perry’s first name is James, Richard is his middle. He could have instead gone by J.R. Perry. ;)
And we all know about H(enry). Ross Perot.
One of my uncles and my grandfather use their legal middle names as first names. My grandfather’s middle name which he uses as first name is ironically my uncle’s legal first name which he doesn’t use.
I think it’s all pretty weird.
Romney won’t get black mom votes if black moms are pro life. In fact, he won’t get any “socially conservative” votes.
“J.R. Perry”
What could have been...
