Tiny turtle.
You found him! He disappeared from my turtle dish when I was about 8 years old and my grandmother said my cat probably ate him.
Take care of Henry, he's 53 years old...........and tell him I said hi!

Looks like an Eastern Painted Turtle (Chrysemys Picta). Beautiful critters.
To: Silentgypsy
I am assuming Eastern Hog-nosed. Very fat and less than a foot long. He could barely move.

It would certainly make an attractive hat band.

If it is a hog nose, it’s the first clear picture of the body pattern I’ve ever seen. Do you thing it was ill or maybe just ate?

Looks like it’s got a definite “supper bump” right where it should be.

Thanks for posting... I love snakes... they`re beautiful, yet terribly misunderstood creatures. I`ve had them in my yard and do all I can to keep them there.. they`re great for keeping the rodent population down.

Kenyan Jackass (natural habitat).

Red ratsnake. Seems like a contradiction in terms.

Beautiful snake, even in shadow. We have lots of them in my area, and I just love ‘em. Too bad so many people are afraid of them, because they are a great asset in the garden. They keep the obnoxious little rodents from snacking out on your hard-grown veggies.

You take great pictures! I even saved the ones of Odin in his Christmas outfit to my gallery. I can always recognize a dog w/a sense of humor.

Maybe they hunt rats? Pit vipers nd poisonous spiders worry me, but I’m pretty happy to have normal snakes, lizards and spiders around.

I am sure it was loaded up on toads and/or crickets that are extremely plentiful in my front yard.
