COMPLETE TITLE:
More Dirty Politics...ABC Sits On Interview With Newt's Ex-Wife, Who Promised In 1995 To "Undermine" A Newt Presidential Run
###
Don't tell me this is a coincidence.
The same day Willard Romney begins his new round of personal attacks to stop Newt Gingrich's rise in the polls in the South Carolina primary, the Drudge Report says ABC News is sitting on an interview with Newt's second wife, Marianne, and is debating the ethics of releasing it before the important primary
Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husbands career with a single interview.
Earlier this week, she sat before ABCNEWS cameras, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
She spoke to ABCNEWS reporter Brian Ross for two hours, and her explosive revelations are set to rock the trail.
But now a civil war has erupted inside of the network, an insider claims, on exactly when the confession will air!
ABCNEWS suits determined it would be unethical to run the Marianne Gingrich interview so close to the South Carolina Primary, a curious decision, one insider argued, since the network has aggressively been reporting on other candidates.
A decision was tentatively made to air the interview next Monday, after all votes have been counted.
Like I said, the timing of this is suspicious....REALLY suspicious. Herman Cain's candidacy was killed by anonymous allegations of sexual harassment, which have all but disappeared. Now, Newt's ex is looking to torpedo his candidacy before a primary that could stymie Romney.
Curious as to what, if any contact, the ex-Mrs. Gingrich may have with GOP elites, and if she might support Mittens. Sorry, I can't help but wonder these things.
A poster at FreeRepublic found this from a 1995 PBS show, "The Inner Quest of Newt Gingrich." Very interesting comments from Marianne Gingrich, when they were married at the time.
But his greatest presidential stumbling block may be right under his nose. At home, Newt's second wife, Marianne Ginther Gingrich, tells me she doesn't see herself in the First Lady's job. "Watching Hillary has just been a horrible experience," commiserates Marianne. "Hillary sticking her neck out is not working."
What happens if Newt runs?, I ask.
"He can't do it without me," she replies. "I told him if I'm not in agreement, fine, it's easy" --she giggles at her naughtiness. "I just go on the air the next day, and I undermine everything...I don't want him to be president and I don't think he should be."
Let me warn the GOP establishment if you're behind putting the ex-Mrs Gingrich out in order to hasten Romney as the nominee, you will be cutting off your nose to spite your face, because from what I'm seeing, the base will stay at home if Mitt is the nominee.
You've been warned...bank on it!
UPDATE: Right Scoop has audio of Mark Levin blasting ABC for the smear campaign against Newt, and ignoring Obama's past.
Excerpt:
RUSH: Oh, obviously. Hell, yeah, obviously. It could become an issue with women voters. Newt's out there, by the way, made news last night, he denied this. He denied the open marriage stuff. And guess what? There is a woman out there.
Her name is Grandy, Fred Grandy's wife, I'm assuming. And she is saying that Marianne Gingrich is unstable and that all the congressional wives thought that from the get-go, that she was a camera hog, that she was loud and outrageous, egotistical, all these things. And that she was not popular with all the people.
(interruption) What, what, what, what, what, what? Well, I don't know what it sounds like, I'm just telling you what she said.
Let me find the exact story here. "Newt Ally Calls Ex-Wife Unstable, Unhinged -- Allies of embattled GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich are coming to his defense. ... What's more is that they are slapping at ABC, which is set to run an interview," last night. "One former associate of Marianne Gingrich, former congressional wife Catherine Mann-Grandy, told Whispers that the speaker's second wife was often rude, loud and unreasonable, and she doubted her story about the open marriage.
Citing a code among congressional wives, Mann-Grandy said, 'We pretty much kept our lips closed, but Marianne was emotionally unstable and I particularly felt that she was obstreperous and rude.'"
That is in the US News & World Report, Washington Whispers. I'm assuming it's Fred Grandy's wife. Wild guess, but I think I'm pretty good.
VOTE SMART, SOUTH CAROLINIANS!
She’s not actually sitting on anything. This is old news isn’t it?
.. Ping!

Yep, and overcoming the positive that Newt has generated on his own will be tough to achieve.
Suck on THAT you Newt vipers!
Oh and after seeing that picture........
GUILTY!!!!!!!
I didn’t watch it. Pot calls kettle black. Yaaaaaaawn.
“This is old news isnt it?”
Precisely, and I have a hunch the current interview didn’t provide a nickels worth of new material, therefore the seemingly confusing decision by ABC suits to hold off until Monday after the votes are counted airing of the interview, if at all. They know the timing would be good cause for a lawsuit, and the damage they could do wouldn’t be enough to gain the financial support they would need from Leftist interests that would normally support their actions.
This article is a teaser to intimate that Newt is one bad fellow. The interview couldn’t do it, so they are using the idea that it could to attempt to cause voters to think about not voting for him. Who would benefit?
FYI ~~The information I’d not seen was her 1995
threat to end any Newt presidential run. Anyway,
not everyone is online and sees every news article
here as it’s posted.. especially so when thread
posters neglect the important addition of adding
the proper keywords so threads are searchable later
by subject/keywords.
Well the whole thing bombed, and made ABC look foolish.
Now she can collect her check and go disappear back into the hole they found her in.
And ABC decided that since it didn't have any ethics, it was OK to run with it.
(after 0bama approved it, no doubt)
Wonder how much she is getting paid and by whom.
Is that a Ferrari I see in her future?
Just another political hack.
What a bitter, evil black hole, huh?
Shivers ...
Yup.
I am not interested in their divorce nor is it any of my business, a ex is a suspect source.
The MSM are a major part of.. well what else Obama's Morality Police?
I still think of the MSM as Obama's servile, complaisant, undistinguished media (SCUM).
From the 1995 interview:
........But his greatest presidential stumbling block may be right under his nose.
Why not?
"Right now, the presidency is not a single person. It's not so much what he'd be doing. It's what I'd be doing.".........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since ABC made there squalid decision to run the interview after the debate and before the primary, it seems to me that the NEW news is TitansAFC's news: Marianne has been on this jag since 1995.
Here’s something to think about:
If you were ABC news and had this “destructive” interview, wouldn’t you consider whether it would be more effective in hurting Newt now, in the primary, or later in the general election (if he won the nomination)?
Since they opted to run it now, doesn’t this say something about how much of a threat they deem Newt to be?
In the end, they probably did Newt a favor by getting the Unhinged Marianne stuff out now, denying Obama the opportunity to pull it out of the hat later. If Obama tries re-hashing this old old story it will just look petty and mean now.
One thing for sure Journalist THEY ARE NOT. They are nothing more than Political Hacks at best.
